That lady simply does not give a shite and does whatever wants. You have to kind of respect it.

I wouldn’t want to deprive the French of her wisdom on climate change.

That's going to be so disappointing for the rest of the summit attendees when they get to hear just how ignorant she is when she takes the podium.....

If you ever wonder why a lot of the world thinks Americans are ignorant lol
She can’t talk.

you don’t know where Nice is, do you
I know where Nice is located on the Mediterranean Sea near Monaco.
But my point is why not hold the conference where there are challenges actually affecting cities. Nice situated on the Mediterranean Sea is probably least affected by Ocean Rise.
It would be like Las Vegas hosting a Hurricane or Tornado conference.

Someone needs to find the " We talkin bout Fraaance" video of her from a couple of years ago.
I think the City Counsel drew the line at paying for extra 1st class accommodations. (That's it).

I admire the fact that she pretty much tells folks to frick right off, she does anything damn thing she wants. She is indestructible and she knows it.
Why anyone even on here would “admire” or “respect “ or are “sorta jealous “ of her is mind boggling.
This is your money. My money. Anyone that has ever paid a dime in tax - it’s their money. How can we just accept this arrogance as status quo? Why do we accept it?
We have simply normalized corruption and unethical behavior. We have a complete lack of accountability and have created a culture of impunity and I guess we feel disillusioned so this has led us to apathy about political corruption and we have also let the media influence our perception that these types of things are acceptable.
Until we have created transparency and systematic changes and accountability to hold these politicians feet to we are doing nothing for ourselves and get what we deserve. Active civic engagement is needed at all levels.
I am pretty tired of just laughing it off and writing the check. We-the middle class in this country pay all the bills and just seem to shrug our shoulders.

Got to respect the ‘not giving any fricks’ at this point
Yeah it is stupid fricks like you throughout the history of this state that has it in the shape it is in now. You are the people that gave us Edwin Edwards and other corrupt politicians that sold this state down the river to line their pockets. This state should be one of the most prosperous in the nation with its vast natural resources but it is not and never will be.
You say you respect actions like this.

I know Nice is a coastal city. It is not like Nice is situated below sea level like New Orleans and sinking under the Gulf of America. If they had to pick a European city that would best fit a coastal city affected by sea level change why not Venice, Italy or Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Just my 2 cents. I am neither arguing for or against LaToya’s trip.
I am just pointing out the hypocrisy of holding these meetings in the playgrounds of rich billionaires.

They tried, couldn’t recall her arse. If she wasn’t term limited dumbass NOLA voters would happily give her another 4 years.

Your expectations are exceedingly high, based on the people I've met that worked at the UN in Brussels. The "statesman" class of Europe is even more retarded than you would expect.

Any way to live stream her speech? That would be entertaining

The real question is…what does Latoya herself bring to the table other than word salad and a hefty bar tab
She checks off the black/female box on the required speakers list.
I’m guessing this meeting was organized by a mayor who wanted to help their fellow mayors have an excuse to go party in another country.

You don't understand why these people hold these conferences in places like Nice do you
