But Mitch is holding Latoya's beer.

And her W-2 forms.

This is who y’all elected. Why y’all can’t elect someone competent is beyond me.

Does she have authority to do this?

That's what I'm wondering. I would LOVE for her to be out of her lane and the real power players in krewes like Rex and Comus mushroom stamp her fricking arse and put her in her place.

I suspect Da Cheef has a lot of latitude and can make up some reason to cover the decision, though.

Mayor can issue emergency rules

Courts are closed until wed

We lucky she didn't cancel the rest of the season. That thought crossed my mind.

Maybe you're not familiar with the makeup of New Orleans, but anyway...

Not bait. Demographic makeup of an area typically determines which officials get elected.

Judges can issue injunctions outside of normal business hours, though.

Watching a judge going toe to toe with the mayor would be fun, too.

That police chief or superintendent is a real winner. He could barely put a sentence together. I’m laughing out loud but crying inside because they are ruining one of the only great things left in a once great city. Thanks Latoya.

these krews have some wealthy and powerful people

I'm sure they can get a judge to put an injunction on her arse in the morning.

Can a judge issue an injunction in a state of emergency?

Could Latoya issue a state of emergency?

Well, "the guy who decided to click the link and then click reply and then write a post about it" is probably a good indicator.

Just knowing you care makes all the difference.

Actually the same float ran over and killed someone in 2008 but I get your point.

The float has an agenda, like the Mayor.

In 2008 it was a rider who was not following the rules of the Krewe and it was after the float was through the Dome.
