Do you know how many people die in the city every day, you know the drug problem the city has, what about the atrocious street conditions, what about pedestrians getting hit (nod to thread the other day).
Why do you feel she has to do something about two people whose decisions/ a freak accident led to their deaths means the government has to do something. shite the second death would not have been prevented had she done this after the first one.

Chalk it up as an anamoly. The chances of it happening again are probably less than 1%. Sure it happened twice in a weeks timeframe but hasn’t happened in 12 years, and then dates back to the 1980’s. Impose more guards and have cops beat people for crossing the street to send a clear message not to be an idiot.

Floats don’t just kill people....it’s an inanimate object Jesus
Also do some research, that guy was a rider, who jumped off early.
Floats may not have a flawless record but when you consider they see millions of people every year, for about 100 years....it’s pretty damn good.

With single float’s the driver can see the hitch. The greatest danger spot due to idiots
crossing over it.
The floats themselves have a skirt that comes down pretty low. You have to crawl under the float to get run over.
These accidents are due to stupid people and bad choices.
IMO they should have kept rolling both parades.
I learned how to behave at a parade when I was a child.

You could also address the ordinance and allow more floats with its own tractor so krewes don’t have to exploit a loop hole to add more members. It does appear the tandem float has been expanding quite rapidly as other krewes fold and more “super” krewes form.
Really would the parade be any different with a few more tractors pulling floats.

Agreed. Individuals such as the 2 that got run over are the reason there are warnings on paint cans saying not to drink the shite inside. Once someone hits that level of stupid, no amount of rules or barricades will prevent them from hurting themselves.
