Not even close.
New Orleans has not been surpassed by mobile and will not be and Gulfport is a pimple on a gnats arse compared to New Orleans. Lake charles and Baton Rouge have more tonnage throughput than Mobile and Gulfport.
And Cruising out of New Orleans is a minor economic impact compared to the commodity business

I'm pretty sure Oliver Thomas sold his chance at being mayor to Pampi Barre for $10,000.
I like Oliver Thomas and hope he continues to resurrect his reputation, but I think the whole convicted felon thing is going to be a problem with running for public office.

It will be. It’s a shame what he threw away with a bad decision. He was well liked from both sides of the political aisle back then. But I don’t imagine the hipsters who moved to New Orleans post Katrina liking his brand of get along politics.

It seems like anyone with the experience to be mayor of Nola is either 1) too set to GAF, 2) too dirty already, or 3) a rarity so aiming for higher office or already there.

That she probably didn’t pick a random guy on a random day?
I doubt he went hard on her but seems clear he was making some comments. Which doesn’t excuse her behavior.
