The biggest cancer.

Before the locusts arrived, there were problems but at least the pumps worked and the garbage got picked up. Someone like Destroya would never have been elected 20 years ago.

I've said that Moreno is probably a front runner and that she is complicit in this. She did enough for a sound bite but I don't trust her

People are gonna hype themselves up for moreno but she's not gonna be functionally much different.

She won't be in your face about it like Teedy, but 10 years from now when Moreno's second term is coming to an end nola residents will be asking themselves the same questions they're asking today.

She is another AOC

And if elected mayor would be far worse and dangerous than Teedy

People will vote for her just because she is cute. Our voting base is retarded

To be fair, things are probably run better when she’s away, so the trips are beneficial to the city in a roundabout way.

If given the option, I would spend as much time outside of NOLA as possible.

Does article mention how that amount compares to past New Orleans Mayors or to Mayors of comparably sized cities?

{ a bodyguard}

You got to be shitt’en me.
Come what other cities the size on Nola have bodyguards and no one outside of the state of Louisiana, much less another country know who Latoya is. Another complete waste of taxpayer money.

Even more pathetic - If LaToya could run for a 3rd term she’d still win

The worse things get, the more support she’ll have. And the more likely to be re-elected if she could run again. Why? Because white folks have left and will continue to leave. Folks who can get out will get out. What’s left? Poor, angry and underachieving blacks with a smattering of weak minded white liberals. Voila!

The city is getting the leadership it voted for.

No one should feel bad

How does the budget process in New Orleans work? In Baton Rouge, the Metro-Council approves the final budget for the coming year. If the process is similar in New Orleans, any “outraged” council members are hypocritical and very late to the party, as LaToya’s travel budget should have been reduced as it made its way through review and approval.

City Ordinance should have managed this issue decades ago.

Are you seriously blaming the City Council on this? How about the elected Mayor not be a corrupt, grifting piece of shite? Blame her for her actions.

Let me put that spending level in perspective….

For a good bit of my career, I worked in marketing at a director level.

Meaning- business class flights, no one telling me where I could stay, where I could eat, where I could go.

Globally.

And I like nice things- it was nothing to stay in the $400/night Intercontinental in Sydney for instance.

Or, if I happened to be in South Africa, I might spend an extra day going on a game drive in Kruger Park.

I did this about 200 days a year.

And I NEVER broke $200,000 per year in expenses.
