Fascinating claimed intercepted call from Russian officer near Mykolaiv to superiors in Russia
Mykolaiv has been pretty heavily fortified as a strategic point that Russia must take to keep supply lines open. They've been probing pretty routinely over the past few days and have gotten absolutely nowhere and taking pretty heavy casualties down there.

Putin’s highest-paid propagandist Vladimir Soloviev & his “experts” at Russia’s largest TV channel send new threats:
1. Nuclear strike against EU
2. Invasion of Poland and Lithuania
3. Creation of a permanent land-bridge from Belarus to Kaliningrad (attack on the Suwalki Gap). LINK
A bit dramatic on the take, but the video shows the guy basically saying if NATO has peace keepers than Warsaw will be ash. That they can take the Baltic states easier than Ukraine because "its a locL operation". Also states that they are making a land bridge to a Transnistria with taking over Ukraine. Worth a quick watch
I do find it interesting to see their viewpoint, so thank you for that.
Concerning 1), this is the, what, third or fourth time they've intimated a nuclear threat? It's well beyond time for put up or shut up now. Yappy little chihuahuas with a bark far bigger than its bite.
Concerning 2) and 3), those broke dicks couldn't seize a country far less developed and far less equipped than any of Poland or the Baltic NATO allies. We would run them over so fast they wouldn't even know how wipe the shite from their eyes.

Does the Russian embassy in Poland have a fireplace

Also may be impossible to achieve at all in a system without considerable political and economic freedom
Definitely, and sorry if I wasn't clear enough in my last paragraph - political and economic freedom along with functioning social infrastructure (schools, physical infrastructure, a reasonably adhered to social contract, etc.) are absolutely massive advantages. I don't think you're average far right nut on the PT board or your radical "both sides" style leftist appreciates just how significant the advantages we have are.

Could be something something lost in translation and he meant hypothermia, which is definitely possible in those conditions without proper gear. Or he could have meant trenchfoot, which is almost guaranteed to be rampant without NCOs making sure everybody changes their socks regularly, assuming they even have extra socks to change into.

Mean that Russia wouldn't be burning docs in Poland?
They could be having a sh*t show in the southern theater and try to provoke a NATO response in hopes of China getting involved. Not saying that is what's happening, but an easy enough position for both to be true

I think all Embassies have fireplaces just in case.
We use burn bags in my firm but we use a disintegrator, not an incinerator. I would imagine any embassies that still burn would have an incinerator for quick and complete burn but if they use a fireplace or pit they should use a "pyro-cage" to prevent partially burned documents from floating away.

Is it possible that someone was just enjoying a fire at a fireplace?

It’s possible that they confused frostbite and trench foot which are similar enough to confuse non medical ppl. Also you don’t have to have arctic conditions to cause frost bite. Especially if they don’t have proper winter gear. The Russian troops still use foot wraps which restrict circulation and are rumored to not have proper winter gear. Combine wet feet, improper foot wrappings, and cold temps and you get lots of cold weather related problems including frost bite and trench foot.
Hey what do I know. It’s like I am MD.
Oh wait, I am an MD.

You’re assuming that Putin and Russia are acting logically (according to a western POV) and have a realistic view of their forces capabilities/performance. From what we have seen over the last month that doesn’t appear to be the case. However, I agree that it’s likely propaganda, but I would not just dismiss it.
Plus it gives us stuff to discuss.

NATO’s Soviet SAM systems can take out the missiles. Right now Ukraine has had to withdraw most of its SAMs to Kyiv and western Ukraine. However, the number of SAMs that Ukraine will have will increase significantly.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Ukraine has ppl in the USA training on how to operate the Patriot missile systems and other western SAMs. It would not surprise me either if NATO suddenly give Ukraine western SAMs to intercept those missiles for “humanitarian reasons” once the Ukrainian operators are trained.
Of course, Ukraine might not need western SAMs if they keep capturing Russian SAMs at the rate they have been.

I believe it was Lithuania, but I can't recall for certain, but they sent a bunch of S300 batteries to Ukraine and we replaced theirs with Patriots.
Things certainly seem to be ratcheting up.

I guess that’s one attempt to stabilize the Rouble. Now presumably all of Europe will have to purchase Russian gas using Roubles vs Euros and Dollars.
