So what do you believe should happen? A Ukraine surrender????

Ukraine should get whatever best deal they can right now. The alternative is to continue losing men and ground in drives and drabs until their army collapses and instead of just losing the ground the Russians hold today, Ukraine is instead completely conquered and wiped off the map.

And no amount of “aid” will change this situation. All Western aid can do is prolong the suffering. Ukraine needs men. Period. Unless Europe is prepared to send tens of thousands of their young men to Ukraine to fight and die in the trenches, their aid to Ukraine is wasted. There’s only three options.

1. An immediate peace deal

2. Europe sends massive numbers of its soldiers to fight in Ukraine. (WWIII)

3.,the war continues as things stand today. Ukraine keeps fighting until its military collapses and Russia annexes the whole country.

This is who he was quoting. Not sure who that is, but the name does seem a little familiar.

Of course Zelensky has no choice but to accept Trump’s offer. It’s literally the only option left to him that doesn’t end with his country annexed to Russia and him at best in exile, or at worst put up against a wall and shot on Putin’s orders.

ISW Update March 2 2025

quote:

Key Takeaways:

Recent Russian official statements in response to the proposed US-Ukraine mineral deal indicate that the Kremlin is trying to sabotage the deal through narratives targeting Ukrainian and American audiences. The Kremlin is claiming that this mineral deal does not benefit Ukraine while also claiming that Russia can make a better offer to the United States, indicating that Moscow sees the deal as harmful to its objectives.

The Kremlin has a vested interest in preventing the United States and Ukraine from signing a mineral deal, as the deal will commit the United States to a long-term investment in Ukraine and Ukraine's sovereignty.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is attempting to exploit discussions between the United States and the EU about the possible deployment of European peacekeeping forces to Ukraine as part of a future peace settlement in order to reinvigorate the Kremlin's demands for regime change in Ukraine.

European leaders demonstrated their commitment to supporting Ukraine at a defense summit in London on March 2.

Ukrainian forces recently advanced near Toretsk, and Russian forces recently advanced near Velyka Novosilka.

Nothing good is coming from the continuation of this war. It has to be stopped now even if it means triggering the pussy leaders in Europe. Ukraine is screwed without our help and so is Europe is something bad went down. Zelensky really should have stayed in Ukraine and let Kellogg do the deal as Trump’s representative and this deal would already be signed, sealed and delivered. Zelensky has to realize that to end this war, Trump has to talk to Putin and all 3 eventually have to talk. If he would have just signed that fricking deal in Kyiv he’d be stress free right now because that would have been 1/2 way to peace in Ukraine. Signing that document then allows Trump to tell Putin that Americans will be in the country mining rare earth minerals so don’t even think about invading again. Ukraine is going time have to give up some land but they still hold the Kursk area so they will probable get some of the land back but not nearly what they had in 2022. The Donetsk and Luhansk areas are very pro Russian so they keep that and some of the land they took but not all. Ukraine won’t have to spend that money rebuilding all those cities and towns and make that be on Russia’s dime. Ukraine would be wise to take the deal, get a ceasefire and then ramp up their defense industry which will help their economy a lot. Ukraine could be the country that all the western countries buy drones from if they wanted to. They have the potential to be largest drone powerhouse in the world.

Agreed on just signing the minerals deal. This is akin to the oil deal the State Dept forced on Standard Oil to be involved in Aramco consortium so that it could have funding. Saudi Arabia became a US protectorate at that point. The minerals deal in and of itself becomes a security deal. I cannot repeat myself enough to the clueless might get a clue.

The EU is now moving toward creating their own military. I guess Trump goosing them has a lot to do with that.

People keep assuming Russia is ready to deal. I haven’t seen anything that tells me that they are.

But I do Ukrsine dhojlf negotiate and do the best they can, but does that mean surrendering their sovereignty? Giving Rusdia control over their country?

This is the only way this war ends with Ukraine not being just another part of Russia.
