Dead on arrival.

“500 million Europeans are asking 300 million Americans to defend them against 140 million Russians,”

Donald Tusk.

Only thing that EU bueracrat has ever said that I agreed with.

Odd since those are made to fire from British helicopters and navy ships

Production began in 2013 and less than 1,000 have been produced so far.

Starmer doesn't know Google exists I guess.

So you are admitting that will be the final scenario either way. Do you realize what you just said? What about the thousands of dead people and further destruction that could be avoided.

History is littered with people who died fighting oppression and for their freedom. Who am I to tell Ukraine to have up. You can, but I won’t.

Glad to see that the UK and France are working with Ukraine to approach Trump to resolve this mess. That would be wonderful. Adult behavior for a change. The State Visit with the British King is a very large carrot to start with. But the landscape has changed a great deal since Friday, so I think we have to take two things into consideration: firstly, Trump’s mental capacity; and secondly, JD Vance.

I don’t think there’s any question that Trump is in decline mentally. It may be the exertion from the campaign last year but he still speaks in sound bites designed to shock as if he is still on the campaign. Plus, he knows what he is saying is not true. ‘Eating cats and dogs in Springfield’ may be acceptable during a campaign, but he is still making these statements. Usually he is surrounded by his entourage and they will never correct him. But the recent visits from Macron and Starmer threw up some red flags. As neither leader is a sycophant, during each press conference when Trump ‘mis-spoke’, both Macron and Starmer did the unthinkable and publically corrected him. Trump’s reaction? Each time he looked at the floor and agreed with them. The insecurity is stunningly evident.

That obviously threw a big scare into the Trump team. They must know from earlier observations that he’s going off script regularly. So someone has to watch Grandfather to prevent him from saying anything regrettable. That someone? Yep, JD Vance. This is the guy that was ready with the ambush Friday so that the presser could be stopped before Trump said something terrible. Like agreeing to support Ukraine with a full security package in exchange for the mineral rights deal. You know, the entire reason Zelensky went to the White House.

Vance is the intended power behind the throne. Trump didn’t like the proposal that Vance would be his running mate, but Vance was put forward and backed up by the billionaires supporting the campaign. He’s their crown prince ready to drive their Project 2025 program now and take Trump’s place in 2028. (If Trump agrees to step down. But that’s a different topic.) They may be rich but as we have seen, not too street smart. These are the people that are coming up with hair-brained ideas like taking over Canada and Greenland. It looks good on a board game map, but it doesn’t work that way in real life. They definitely wanted the mineral rights deal but as it looked like they would have to get involved with Ukraine’s security, things didn’t look as attractive as just stealing everything - their normal style. Zelensky didn’t wilt under negotiation pressure and kept insisting on security guarantees. So the Musk crowd – not known for their courage or perseverance in situations in which they do not have complete control – pulled out. Main takeaway? Vance did not handle this well at all and no one’s happy.

So going forward, with Trump’s insecurities, getting the US back together with Ukraine will be a long hard slog. But it can be done. The first step in reconciling Trump with Zelensky will be to find someone to blame for the fallout for Friday’s disaster. Zelensky will man up and apologize ‘for the misunderstanding’ and Trump himself, while never apologizing, will say something to the effect that ‘it wasn’t all President Zelensky’s fault’. Not exactly Eisenhower and Churchill, but it will have to do.

But in every narrative there has to be a bad guy. We know it won’t be the grandfatherly Trump. So who is assigned blame instead? Yes, the billionaire’s handler Vance. Trump can’t be happy about the press conference Friday and all his family and friends are now also out of the generational wealth of that mineral rights deal. Which is now going to the EU consortium. The market is down, Trump’s popularity is suffering and everyone in Washington is looking at the 2026 midterms and thinking of all the split voters that historically vote against the party of the White House in midterms. Even a hugely popular President Reagan lost both his midterms. Voters of both parties don’t trust anyone in Washington, especially a President possessing both Houses of Congress. And without a majority in both Houses the Project 2025 party is over. After Friday’s debacle, the GOP has to know that every time Trump speaks publically, they lose 5,000 votes. He’s no longer just a cute spectacle that’s ‘eccentric’ or ‘overly excitable’. He will now be seen as unpredictable and an economic threat and international danger to everyone. Hell, even the Russians are a bit worried now. What they bought is not what they expected. Loose cannons can be fun but not in the White House.

So in the coming weeks, as the zillions of Twitter bots get off the present feed, let’s watch and see if Vance can remain in his favored place in the back of the room wearing beige. He was outed on Friday and will have to go on the defensive - which is always a bad position in Washington.

He also reiterated the readiness of the United Kingdom "to put boots on the ground and planes in the air" to defend Ukraine if necessary, evoking a "coalition of the willing" of other countries to do the same. Europe must do the heavy lifting, but must have the strong backing of the United States, he said. The summit took place two days after a disastrous bilateral in the Oval Office in which US President Trump and Vice President JD Vance upbraided Zelenskyy for being not grateful enough to the United States. They accused the Ukrainian president of disrespect after urging him toward a diplomatic solution with Russia. They did not sign a deal on developing Ukraine's mineral resources that Kyiv hoped would spur Trump to back Ukraine’s war effort. The meeting left many political observers shocked as to the re-alignment of the United States, as it vividly illustrated a sharp turn in US foreign policy toward Russia.

Lavrov Calls Zelensky ‘Pure Nazi,’ ‘Traitor to Jewish People’

The statement by Russia’s top diplomat is part of Moscow’s longstanding attempt to paint Ukraine as a “neo-Nazi” state to justify its invasion.

by Kyiv Post | Mar. 2, 2025, 4:07 pm

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky – who is of Jewish descent – a “pure Nazi” and “traitor to the Jewish people.”

Lavrov made the comment during an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda outlet, which was published by Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday.

“Zelensky has turned 180 degrees from a man who came to power on slogans of peace, on slogans of ‘leave us alone from the Russian language, it is our common language, our common culture’ (all this is on the Internet) and in six months has turned into a pure Nazi and, as Russian President [Vladimir] Putin correctly said, into a traitor to the Jewish people,” Lavrov said.
