Let's look at the so called environmentalist who opposed new methanol plants and export grain elevators between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. They were not against them until they were told that had to be able to pass 3rd grade reading comprehension and drug screening for safety reasons to get any of the jobs in them. Suddenly, they were hollering Cancer Alley (fake news) and discrimination.

I knew you'd be here to set me straight on the subject. Thank you. So these terminals are all bullshite? Yamal LNG , Sakhalin-2 in the Far East, and two small export terminals in western Russia, Cryogas-Vysotsk and the KS Portovaya plant?

Two LNG export terminals. and they are pissant compared to US export terminals. Sakhalin is LNG only because an active fault zone keeps a pipeline from being built to China. It has small shuttle LNG carriers. Most of the process units on Sakhalin were built in Louisiana in the Morgan City area. The other is on the Arctic Ocean with another cancelled due sanctions. The one near Leningrad is teeny. They are all Western technology.

There is a pissant pipeline to China which is connected east of the Caucasus fields and not to all the pipeline aimed at Europe. How much more does it cost to ship LNG from Russia's Pacific Coast down then through the Straits of Malacca then across the Indian Ocean then around Africa to get to Europe, as opposed to pipelines direct to Europe when it can come from Maryland or Louisiana across the Atlantic only? I don;t care if you hire monkeys that ship one route is going to cost a shitton more.

Pipelines are THE workhorse not LNG liquefaction and export terminals. BTW, natural gas is cheaper from the US anyway. It has been cheap inside of Russia because exports paid to have it subsidized. The price is going up in Russia. In the US we get it for free from oil wells in the Permian basin

The export terminals amount to a gnat on a fly's behind. No way in hell can they make up what has been lost in pipeline capacity plus COST. Cheaper to get from the USA

My point is that the Russian export LNG terminals are too small to really matter except to the clueless news media and politicians. Even if they did, Hungary, Slovakia and Austria have no access to LNG import terminals. Their total capacity Just Shell's Prelude FLNG floating LNG liquefaction and export capacity offshore Australia has almost the capacity of all of Russia's It pales in comparison to say Cheniere's Sabine Pass, LA facility, 1/10 the capacity

Pipeline metering station is Sudzha. Russia doesn't know how much is flowing through it to charge.

It's like having a gas station pump without a meter to show how much you pumped. We are talking about pipelines. The LNG terminals amount to next to nothing. You are talking about pissant shite

No I said it was the last NG terminal still supplying the few European countries Russia had left. Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic all had waivers or exemptions to the EU ban on purchasing Russian natural gas. Those countries could only import Russian gas through the Ukrainian pipeline network. There are 2 metering stations for that network. One has been closed for maintenance for over a year and the other is Sudzha which is currently under Ukrainian control and probably being rigged with explosives right now. Russia’s gas exports to Central Europe are about to go the way of the gold standard which is why Victor Orban and the new PM of Slovakia are throwing hissy fits.

Fires reported at 2 oil depots in Russia's Rostov Oblast, local media reports

by Dmytro Basmat August 28, 2024 4:38 AM

Fires broke out at two separate oil depots in Russia's Rostov Oblast in an apparent drone attack on the region, local Russian media reported overnight on Aug. 28.

Residents in the region reported hearing explosions around 3 a.m. local time, local Russian state-controlled media outlet Rostov Novosti claimed. The explosions were followed by thick black smoke rising from depots near the community of Kamensky.

Rostov Oblast's Governor Vasily Golubev claimed that four Ukrainian attack drones had been shot down over the region.

Social media videos of a fire filmed by a local resident depict a large blaze and black smoke rising from the apparent oil depot.

Golubev claimed that there were no reported casualties.

The Kyiv Independent cannot verify the claims and Ukraine's military has not yet commented on the alleged attacks.

Ukraine is reportedly still in negotiations with Russia in Qatar about renewing the contract for gas to go through Ukraine. The present contract expires the end of this year. No contract and the hissy fit boys who have sold out to Putin will freeze like frogs this winter.
