That's not the point. If they take the Ukraine, I am gonna pop a grape if we somehow get "NATO" involved, which means our guys on the ground.

“ NEAR UKRAINE’S BORDER — Some 14 wide-bodied aircraft transported a bristling array of Javelin antitank missiles, rocket launchers, guns and ammunition to an airfield near Ukraine’s border on Friday, as the United States and European allies ramped up their efforts to give the Ukrainian military a leg up in battling a foreign enemy that far outguns it.
The top U.S. military adviser to President Biden inspected the weapons transfer operation in an unannounced trip, meeting with troops and personnel from 22 countries who were working around the clock to unload the armaments for transport by land to the Ukrainian forces.
The American weaponry, which included the Javelins as well as small arms and munitions, was part of a $350 million package that Mr. Biden authorized on Saturday; within two days, one official said, the deliveries were landing at an airfield near the border that can process 17 airplanes a day. What began as a trickle — with only two or three planes arriving a day — is now a steady flow, the official said, with 14 loads from one airfield alone.
Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, included a stop at the airfield as part of a trip to the region. As he spoke to troops, cargos of Javelins rolled behind him. Nearby, two C-17s, the enormous cargo workhorses of the U.S. Air Force, sat on the tarmac.”

SPR utilization at this point is a poor choice. With Putins crew threatening nuclear war, we shouldn’t be utilizing our 30 day cushion to try and swing prices at pump.
I agree. Just pointing out that it’s really the only thing the US can do to move the needle in the short term.

When prices went to zero during pandemic killed our capacity. It’s hard to explain it’s not as easy as turning a valve on and off.

OPEC can make up the shortage if they want too. Baws, I think the oil embargo of Russia is almost a certainty.
Putin is going to the old Russian playbook of city leveling, all these people you are seeing talking on TV, we are getting to know, and admire for their courage (that the Ukrainians masterfully are putting on TVs all over the world, ) are going to be dead in piles of rubble soon. Even the biggest Karen’s are going to want blood.
Putin starting shooting reporters today to keep everyone from seeing this. When people see the bodies of people they have seen on TV, and their children in bloody piles, outrage is going to be off the scale, and Mcdonald’s Coke etc are all going to be forced to leave or face boycotts or disinvestment, (The california retirement pension fund will drop them for sure and that’s almost a kiss of death for public investors.
Its going to cost us all 1000s of dollars unless you work in oil and gas field but it’s going to happened now.
The good news is that China has just fricked itself too, and now they are caught between rock and hard place. I bet they cancel that China EU summit coming up. They are Putin enablers and will pay the price. Nobody is going to trust those mfers anymore. Definitely should at least buy time for Taiwan.
Maybe that will slow him down long enough to be located and taken out, or be deposed. Otherwise, they will definitely either accidentally or on purpose hit Poland or some other Nato county and you draft eligible boys better stay in school and take your deferment or else, see you in Europe.
There are good responsible people in Russia that don’t want to die in a mushroom cloud, that are or were in KGB, and Military. Hopefully, they eventually take control of this shite show.
Or maybe some benevolent aliens freeze all the nukes or something, and or vaporize Moscow.
I think he has Covid brain or something.
I seriously seriously hope I am completely wrong on all this.

Futures prices went to less than $0 because there was no place to store the oil on tankers already loaded.

Damned poor choice to tap the SPR. Although Trump filled the reserve at about $32 per barrel, Biden will hold off a bit to raise the price above $132 so that he can get a clean 10% on the profit.

So, the Georgians (not the dawg humpers) had a huge protest/rally earlier with "thousands of people" where they had Zelensky talk to them via facetime or zoom or something. The video looked almost like a music festival with people waving Ukranian flags.
Odd times, indeed.

Unfortunately within the next 2 weeks Russia will probably claim to have control over The Ukraine, but that doesn’t mean shite at the end of the day. Russia, and the USA have been down the same road when it comes to supposedly occupying the same country, I don’t know how Russians felt but when the USA finally left, it left a bad taste in my mouth. This situation comes down to a man, that’s said numerous times what he wants and if he’s really sick only makes it worse.

i wonder how long it will take before russian soldiers contacting their families realize that their money is worthless and start to desert

The US doesn't produce oil. Oil companies do. They make the decisions based on pricing, supply, demand, interest rate risks, global currency risks, political risks, and unfair competition practices and all kinds of other shite.

Looks like they're starting to place anti-tank obstacles on some streets in Kyiv.
