They can’t be afraid anymore. Being afraid has created this entire thing. The West has been appeasing to Russia for at least a decade now. No more time for the pussy shite. Strength is the only way to win.
I have never liked Macron, but I respect him more now. And I think he’s being sincere with what he’s saying too and isn’t doing this for politics. Because using the language he’s using, won’t make you popular amongst the people of France. Will probably lower his approval ratings and things of that nature. Just the way it is, but it’s good to see him using this kind of language and being this serious. UK and Germany really need to step their game up.

I don't think that's new. Stalin murdered and starved to death millions of Ukrainians and then tried to Russify Ukraine itself.
One of the great genocides of the modern era and it was swept under the rug more or less because we ended up allied to the guy responsible for it during WW2.
Ukraine also bore the brunt of some of the worst suffering of WW2.
-Soviet Famine and genocide “Russification”
- conquered by Nazis in horrible bloody invasion
-nazi genocide “lebensraum”
-reconquered by Soviets in terrible fighting
Ukrainians are right there with the Chinese as having the worst go of it during WW2.

So to be clear, do you support NATO declaring war on Russia? If so, how do you foresee that playing out?
Interested to see where people here land on the topic given the rhetoric in this thread.

Who said anything about NATO declaring war on Russia?
I only think NATO should declare war on Russia if NATO is attacked by Russia, like what’s written.
The West has to be more strong against Russia though. Stand up more. Take a more Cold War type of approach that many of our presidents took. Truman and others for example. We’re trying to avoid war by playing a weak game. You gotta play or threaten the same game that Putin is playing with us.

This. Europe finally sees that Putin's rhetoric and his action are polar opposites.

Macron is preparing the ground for today's big meeting between the leaders of France, Germany and Poland.
Good. France has already committed to building weapons factories in Ukraine. So has Poland. Rheinmetall has agreed to build 4 weapons factories in Ukraine, but the German government has not given them approval yet. They were supposed to open the first factory in Ukraine last year but red tape in the German government has slowed that down. Germany needs to get fully on board if they actually care about the defense of Europe.

This would be a good response to Putin's election, but there probably will be more and greater demonstrations of Putin's limited control during the election starting today. If Macron really wants to put up, he could take the handcuffs off the SCALP cruise missiles donated to Ukraine. Nothing says Congrats on the Election Vlad like the Kerch Bridge blown to bits.
No the best thing to do is for the west and Ukraine to keep their mouths shut or say the opposite of what they intend to do. Look at the Ukrainian offensives in Kharkiv oblast in 2022 vs the one in the Zap oblast last year. In 2022, Ukraine put the public focus on Kherson and the Russians responded accordingly. Ukraine then attacked in the Kharkiv oblast and had tremendous success. Last year everyone talked about a Ukrainian offensive in the south aimed at Crimea and Russia prepared for it and the offensive failed.

These have a longer range version of 550 km, greater than the distance between Kyiv and the Kerch Bridge.
Per my sauce(s) in the Ukrainian Air Force the more advanced version of the missile will require western contractors on the ground to get Ukraine’s soviet built planes able to fire them. Plus they don’t have enough planes to risk a mission on the bridge. The Kerch Straits Bridge (KSB) is not a realistic target until next year at the earliest when a significant amount of the F16s are in country. Besides the Ukrainians are not in a position to exploit destroying the KSB. Ukraine needs to draft and train its 300,000-500,000 troops, repair its equipment, restock its ammunition reserves before it strikes the KSB. If they strike it now the Russians will just figure out another way to supply Crimea and the Zap oblast before Ukraine is ready to take advantage.

That is a fair question for Russia. Why would they make peace when they are “winning” at the moment? Which makes me wonder why the people who are pushing for Ukraine to negotiate peace actually believe that peace could be negotiated?

Is all of Ukraine in missle or bomb range of Russi,a or are there area that are safe from that type stuff? I kinda feel like a weapons facility would be a top priority for them.

Toll From Russian ‘Double-Tap’ Strike on Odesa Rises to 14
Many of the wounded are emergency workers attending the scene of the first explosion, a deliberate attack strategy often used by Moscow’s forces known as a “double-tap.”
At least 14 people were killed and dozens more injured on Friday in a Russian strike on the Ukrainian Black Sea port city of Odesa, which has come under repeated aerial attacks.
"As a result of the Russian missile attack, 14 people were killed, including local residents, a medic and a rescuer. Another 46 people, including seven employees of the State Emergency Service, were wounded," Odesa Governor Oleg Kiper wrote on social media.

Hey Lima you better get together with the rest of your sheep and go “vote” in your “election”. Also if Russia is so fricking great and they have the moral high ground explain the 14 dead and 46 wounded civilians in Odesa? Guess they just had it coming right? Patton was right all along. We should have enlisted the Wehrmacht and kept on rolling to Moscow to finish the job while we were already there. Then these vermin wouldn’t exist.

Yeah most of the suffering Russia is credited for in WWII actually took place in Ukraine and Belarus.

He was right but there would have been no stomach for it. The army would have mutinied, with the backing of the people back home.

Greece starting to step up their support. They are sending 70 M114A1 towed 155 mm howitzers, 2,000 Zuni rockets, 180 2.75” anti-tank rockets 90,000 90mm anti-tank rounds and 4 million rounds of small arms ammo.
