When you tie Ukraine into the border problem all you do is give Biden and hud people cover. You are telling people that the reason the border is unsecured is Ukraine when the real reason it’s unsecured is Joe Biden and the Democrats.
Tie the border to those "continuing resolutions" and let all of the non-essential parts of government shutdown as they have many times in past. That gets it done.

From a business standpoint I dont understand investing anything more into it. Lets review:
When you add up all the funding, US,EU, NGOs, UN, World Bank, etc etc it has to be 200 billion at this point. The US alone is 113 billion (they conveniently leave out a huge chunk of money USAID has given in addition to the "stated" amount) and the world bank another 41 billion.
And what has been accomplished: they have lost a good portion of their country. They have lost most of their adult males (dead, wounded, or left). The UN says 31 million have now crossed the border (and I doubt many are immigrants).
So now we will throw another 60 billion (when 200 billion would not do it in a pristine situation) into a disaster of a situation.
What on earth do we think the results will be?????? Other than more people getting rich, and a lot more being killed?

New poll: Nearly 70% of Americans want talks to end war in Ukraine
The survey suggests Biden administration policy toward Russia is increasingly out of step with public opinion
The American public is sick of this graft and wants it to end.
They did not ask how they wanted the war to end.

As the House weighs whether to approve new aid for Ukraine, 48% of respondents said they support new funding as long as it is conditioned on progress toward a diplomatic solution to the war. Others disagreed over whether the U.S. should halt all aid (30%) or continue funding without specific conditions (22%).

US had not given 113 billion in money. Bulk of what was given is munitions and weapon platforms. Most of which was older/stored equipment.
We should give Ukraine all our cluster munitions since we can’t use and have to spend money to destroy. We should give more Bradley’s we have I storage so we don’t need to upkeep them. And give them munitions that are about to or have gone into their end of usable life.
I also have no problem doing trades to other former East block nato nations to give them older US platforms for their old east block platforms that we can give to Ukraine.

You idiot. Biden and Nuland said they were going to do it. I think even Tom Cotton and Lion Ted said it should be stopped or destroyed. You figure it out.

ISW Update

quote:
Key Takeaways:
Ukrainian shortages of ammunition and other war materiel resulting from delays in the provision of US military assistance may be making the current Ukrainian front line more fragile than the relatively slow Russian advances in various sectors would indicate.
The rate of Russian advance west of Avdiivka has recently slowed, although Russian forces likely retain the capability to intensify offensive operations in the area at a moment of their choosing.
Ukrainian actors conducted large-scale drone strikes against energy infrastructure and military assets within Russia on the night of March 12 to 13.
The governor of the pro-Russian Moldovan autonomous region of Gagauzia, Yevgenia Gutsul, claimed on March 13 that her recent meetings with Russian officials in Russia led to deepening economic ties between Gagauzia and Russia, which the Kremlin likely hopes to exploit as part of its wider efforts to destabilize Moldova and prevent Moldova from joining the EU.
Russian sources claimed that Russian forces repelled another limited cross-border incursion by the all-Russian pro-Ukrainian Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK), Freedom of Russia Legion (LSR), and Siberian Battalion in Belgorod and Kursk oblasts on the night of March 12 and the morning of March 13.
Russian forces recently made confirmed advances near Avdiivka amid continued positional engagements along the entire frontline on March 13.
Russian authorities continue efforts to censor protests of wives and mothers of mobilized soldiers ahead of the Russian presidential election.

I wonder how long Putin waits to "liberate" other "pro-Russian" areas....

Who gives a f**k if we destroyed it or not? Russia attacked one of our pipelines in 2021. Putin FAFO payback is a bitch and the USA can do more and will do more to anyone who wants to FAFO again.

The refinery is the 3rd largest in Russia at340,000 BPD throughput from 3 crude units. Tbe Cat Cracker is 19,000 BPD so really not that big. It's actually two vessels a reactor and a regenerator. The reactor is basically a controlled partial burning of the feedstock to break it down. The regenerator is where the catalyst goes for any coking of it to be burned off before being returned to the reactor. It looks more like a sand so flows in a fluid manner. Also, it's a residual cat cracker so unconverted feedstock is recycled until cracked with throughput likely being 22,000 BPD total including residual,
Addition: Somewhere around 10,000 BPD of low grade gasoline, 6-7,000 BPD of low grade diesel with further processing for both. A lot of gases with isobutane used to make alkylate to increase gasoline octane.

I'd rather it be buried at the bottom of the sea than have it be used to kill our brothers in Christ.

As opposed to Ukraine, who has no election, no opposition newspapers, and no Orthodox Church (now only their neoshitlib sect is allowed).

If you consider the foundation of the Republican party to be conservatism then MAGAism is very much RINO.
For many years Reagan was considered the best modern Republican president but I have watched MAGA shift away from him because many of his views don't align with the MAGA movement. An excellent example is Ukraine. Reagan would have been pumping weapons into Ukraine at an unprecedented rate even if he had to surreptitiously move them through a 3rd country.

You say this as if it's a good thing. God isn't going to bless America if you're supplying weapons that will prolong a war in which hundreds of thousands of his Christian lads are dying.

LOL, history doesn't bear that out in the slightest. In the 1/4 millennium that the US has been a country, it went from a group of rebels to the most powerful country in the world. It is a country that was founded by killing Christians and a country that stayed a single country by killing Christians. The country is standing on the graves of 100,000s of thousands of Christians.
