Then why the extended play for Kyiv?

Yea that's what doesn't make sense unless Putin thinks it will take that much pressure to get what he wants.

Kiev is the largest city, by quite a bit I think, in Ukraine so it will take longer. Plus, they are holding them by the nose at Kiev while they come north from Crimea.

I asked that in regards to the question of if Putin's goal is to get the separatist regions. If that was his goal, then why lay siege to Kyiv?

I know why Kyiv is important if you're looking to take the entire country.

Stupid question but say you live in Ukraine and your apartment or house is bombed.

Does insurance cover that?

How the hell does that work?

Is there a way to take the frozen Russian assets and redistribute to those impacted?

That's Farmer's... and the fact that I know that means it's an effective ad campaign.

If you want to see actual footage of the war without any apparent bias either way, I’ve found war.updates.daily on IG. I highly recommend it.

Even if all Putin wants to do is annex the East, he will still have to occupy and control the government. It remains to be seen if he will replace Zelensky or if Zelensky surrenders, will he allows Zelensky to govern in a client state. In either case, he will control the entire state of Ukraine with the eastern portion absorbed into the Russian Federation and the the rest reconstituted as a client state.

All that to say, this doesn’t end in a Russian success without troops seizing the government in Kyiv.

At Farmer's they've seen a thing or two. Which, being Ukraine, is oddly appropriate.

The preference would be to force Ukraine to comply with the three main demands. Recognition of the separatist regions, Neutrality (No NATO), removal of what they call the "Nazis" Western Ukrainian officials from the government.

If they don't get that, they capture Kiev, and conduct regime change.

If resistance continues if they capture Kiev, they continue to destroy resistance in the Western parts of the country.

That's operating under the assumption that they can actually hold the city, or the country for that matter.

That is a dig at Zelenskyy, in the Presidential election of 2019 Poroshenko accused him of using drugs.
