They're not faster. They're slower. The warheads from a conventional ICMB travel 4-6 times faster than what you're talking about (up to 18,000 mph). The Russian weapon that you're talking about has the ability to cover a longer range in it's glide phase and move like a tomahawk, which is what makes it dangerous. Our Close in Weapons systems) can't effectively track them (or at least base upon published specs).

However, to stop such weapons, you try to intercept them during the boost phase (a difficult prospect) or before apogee (just like any other ICMB we try to engage). This is because most nuclear weapons don't truly go hot until after they start to descend in case they have a malfunction during the boost phase. So if you're intercepting the weapon before this point, the maneuverability of such a weapon is moot.

THANK GOD... DirecTV broke their contract with RT and pulled it from all packages. I can only guess the delay was so that their lawyers could look through the contract to find an "out". (Over the weekend they had said RT pays them to carry it which meant their hands were tied.)

My wife is one of the most intelligent people I know and could gain a significant grasp on the geopolitics and warfighting methods being used in a short period of time. That being said she couldn't give any less fricks about what is going on simply because she has better things to do. She is more concerned with getting up in the morning and making sure someone's mawmaw or pawpaw lives long enough to see Braxton and Katelynn get married next year.

A huge portion of the US population couldn't point out Ukraine on a map, they don't know what Article 5 says or means and they damn sure couldn't tell you where the largest single portion of the world's supply of neon gets refined. They don't care because they don't have the time to care within their lives. They are working, shopping, eating, shitting, drinking, fricking, and sleeping just like most every hamster in the world.
