I don't think Washington or any other Western government truly wants Prigozhin to succeed. They don't want anyone getting it in their heads that this sort of thing is even possible.

It’s possible in Russia because of the feudal system under Putin and him allowing Wagner to rise to power because they were doing his dirty work.

Just woke up. Honestly I am stunned by how fast this is moving. The fact that Wagner is moving so quickly towards Moscow tells us one of two things, 1) Russia is an egg shell and the interior of Russia is devoid of any combat power to oppose Wagner or/and 2) the military is siding with Wagner.
The only combat power we have heard of that is responding are the Chechen forces and for all their bluster they don’t want any part of Wagner.
What Ground forces does Russia have in reserve that they can put in front of Wagner?
Keep in mind that Wagner is intimately familiar with Russias military, has all of there codes and commas gear, knows what Russia has in reserve, knows where Russia is weakest.
At there current Rate of advance we could see Wagner on the outskirts of Moscow within 24 hours. This whole situation isn’t even 24 hours old yet. (Obviously Prig has been planning this for a while)

Their column is protected by layered air defense with Pantsir and MANPADS. Several helicopters of the Russian army have been shot down.
The only city Wagner intends to occupy at this stage is Rostov. The city entrance from Taganrog / Mariupol have been mined. Reportedly Kadyrov is driving towards Rostov. Russian radio chatters indicate that there are possibly a number of units withdrawn from the frontlines to assist Kadyrov in re-taking Rostov.
Wagner war game is to reach Moscow as fast as possible "a la Tripoli" and decapitate Putin's regime before Shoigu and Putin have time to re-organize themselves.
To prepare Moscow defense special units have been deployed to the 3 southern bridges leading to Moscow. Reportedly, Russians are even prepared to blow them off. Civilian traffic is stopped.
Governmental planes usually used by Putin have taken off with unknown destinations. Medvedev has reportedly left Moscow for St- Petersburg
