Russian ships flee after strong blast in the occupied Sea of Azov port of Berdyansk
June 2, 2023, 09:14 AM

Strong explosions were heard in the occupied coastal city of Berdyansk, the military administration reported on Telegram on June 2.

The attack was aimed at the Russian positions in the city port.

"According to the preliminary data, (Russian) ships are fleeing the port of Berdyansk they have entered recently in order to steal Ukrainian grain and scrap," the message reads.

A video showing the moment of impact appeared online.

Russian military blogger Romanov reports that due to a 'regrouping', Ukrainian forces managed to reach the borders of Volodymyrivka, north of Volnovakha. Possibly cutting the supply road to Pavlivka in the future.

In addition, Russian military blogger WarGonzo reports that Ukrainian Forces are actively conducting offensive actions towards Volodymyrivka and claims the AFU has advanced.

This is how the US deals with Air Defense. We provided one of these to Ukraine.

quote:

quote:

“Per the Pentagon papers Ukraine received an Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Battle Command System (IBCS) Engagement Operations Center (EOC).”

Significant because this is not second or third generation equipment from storage, this is a brand new ‘hyper modern’ system. Evidently the US Army doesn’t even have these yet.

What is it? Well, from @John_A_Ridge, the “EOC (Engagement Operations Center) will be able to provide C2 [Command and Control] to any and all Western radars and SAMs that Ukraine operates, bypassing their organic C2 centers.”

The ”Integrated Fire Control Network relays, which enable individual radars and launchers to be deployed 150+ km from the EOC. This can greatly increase the geographic area a fixed number of assets can defend.”

“It should also enable Ukraine to more directly integrate with US/NATO AEW&C aircraft and other sensors. In other words, it should automate the process through which NATO is able to pass tracking and targeting data to Ukrainian AD assets.” So evidently, this system would provide state of the software air defense from all threats.

Now... let’s revisit those pontoon bridges across the Dniper.

This was an article that was linked from the article you just shared. Its a good read as well

Army’s embattled missile defense network, IBCS, passed a major field test at Yuma Proving Ground in October, contractor Northrop Grumman announced today. In stark contrast to chronic software crashes early on, the command-and-control system accurately tracked everything from drones to helicopters to fighter jets, both Army aircraft and Marine ones. (It’s hit ballistic and cruise missiles in earlier tests). It drew data from Patriot and Sentinel radars that were not designed to work together. And it kept doing this for days all this despite active jamming by a live adversary

Back in 2016, IBCS crashed every six to eight hours during its Limited User Test. By contrast, in one test this summer at Fort Sill, it ran for 72 hours straight while under constant simulated attack.

The rumors that Germany will supply 66x Fuchs 1 APCs to Ukraine were false.

It now has been confirmed to be the BATT UMG which will be equipped by FFG in Germany.

German Source

Vehicle Specs

The German government actually released a statement after all the Fuchs rumours and said the Fuchs would have been 6-7 times as expensive. Another factor was the speed of delivery, though they gave no further details.

It's like the old "telephone" game, and it happens all the time in this war. Sometimes, it's wishcasting, and sometimes it's due to translation issues, but it usually works like:

ORIGINAL GOVERNMENT SOURCE: We are considering another package of aid to Ukraine.
REPORT 1: The government announced another aid package to Ukraine. Some experts are speculating that it might include Weapon X.
REPORT 2: It is rumored that the government is providing Weapon X to Ukraine.
REPORT 3: The government has announced that they are providing Weapon X to Ukraine!
ORIGINAL GOVERNMENT SOURCE: The rumors of us transferring Weapon X are false. We have not considered sending Weapon X.
PRO-UKRAINE ACTIVISTS: Why isn't the government sending Weapon X to Ukraine? We should totally be sending Weapon X.

So, the cycle ends up actually putting more pressure on governments to send more weapons. We've seen this happen a number of times now.

(cycle continues);
Sergei Lavrov was quoted as advising that should [Government Source] provide Ukraine with Weapon X, it will be viewed as a "grave provocation" for which the West can expect an "appropriate and aggressive response."

So I guess it can be expected those F-16s will be conducting airstrikes inside of Russia, soon?

IBCS is a game changer. The fact that we are sending Ukraine one before our own forces have them is a little shocking but I suppose they want to test it in real life conditions. What better way than a hot war? There was talk about this system for a while even while I was still in but it never came while I was active. I would have loved to see this thing in action. It’s the ultimate linking together of all aircraft and air defense assets in real time. In a war where seconds or minutes can mean everything this really has a chance to set the bar extremely high to our friends and most importantly our enemies. You can bet Russia will be sending the kitchen sink to try to destroy it.

We now have two wars. No surprise -
quote:

[Wagner Chief] Prigozhin accuses Russian Defense Ministry of placing mines along Wagner exit routes from Bakhmut. Wagner mercenary group founder Yevgeny Prigozhin accused "representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry" of placing mines along Wagner troops' exit routes from Bakhmut.
quote:

According to Prigozhin, there were explosive devices placed in around a dozen locations along Wagner troops' exit routes, including "hundreds" of anti-tank mines. "We conducted investigative actions jointly with law enforcement agencies to document everything. Currently, investigations are underway," Prigozhin said.

Those who placed the explosive devices were "representatives of the Russian defense ministry." "When asked why they did it, they pointed their fingers upward," Prigozhin added, suggesting that the orders came from higher-ranking officials.

Question du jour: Just where is Wagner going now and who is going to stop them...? Our next clue will be found at local Russian ammunition depots.

Im guessing they move their guys to some of their other sites around the world.
But yeah, them causing havoc for Russia in some way would be fun to watch

I’ve long been the guy that has said Biden won’t do ATACMS but Britain basically made that decision for him. Petraeus, for all his faults, was/is a very good general officer. I love what he says in this interview because it’s the cold hard truth. Russia chose this war, not the U.S., NATO or Ukraine. Now that they have been exposed it’s time to give the Ukrainians the tools they need to finish the job. They are doing NATO’s job for everyone. If given the weapons they will defeat Russia and send them back to where they started. No one wants Russia wiped off the map but all they understand is force so they need to forced to their knees and then we can start the rebuilding of relations. A weak Russia with many factions vying for power does the world no good. Russia needs to be stable but that have to be taught a lesson that they can’t just invade a country when they feel like it. Taking Crimea back would be the ultimate way to teach Russia that hard lesson. None of this needed to happen but now that it has NATO can’t lose so that means Ukraine can’t be allowed to lose. Their punishment for this invasion will be a westernized Ukraine that will possibly be in NATO one day and a western army in Ukraine with western weapons. Also they now have Finland in NATO. If they hadn’t invaded they wouldn’t have 2 new countries bordering them either already in NATO or well on their way. Putin has to go and a new fresh thinking leader needs to emerge to take Russia into the future where they don’t rule by fear but by policy and working with western nations.

Met him once, going in to the chow at Camp Liberty. We had been out staying at smaller FOBs for about a month and we had 72 hours off and everybody wanted to eat, shower, wash clothes and sleep in a real bed.

Him and his "staff" were between us and the DFAC. SO we walk by he asked who we were and where we had been, small talk. He looked totally disinterested in what we had been doing.

The he asked, "CPT who is your PT stud? where is he". I wasnt tracking and he says "your best PT guy, I know you have one". Kids name was Curtis so I call him over and right there on the walkway in to the DFAC the GEN and SPC Curtis had a push up contest...Patreus did 84 I think Curtis did 60 or so. Thats it, he hops up and slaps CUrtis on the back and they were on their way...

Weirdest, most awkward thing I've ever seen.

the patriot system is not just a launcher. it consists of multiple vehicles (command and power generator and others) it also integrates with other AD assets, including other launchers and aircraft in the area. taking on the radar inputs the other assets are receiving as well as directing the other assets to targets. the more assets available to give radar inputs and to launce the more target that the patriot system can engage.

the main brain of the Patriot is targeting and directing the engagement platform.....

Oof.. just got a lil' chub. Nuggets of info like this, amongst so many others, are why I have continued to trudge through the muck of PT nonsense. Such an impressive integration of complex technology. Thank you ALL for your contributions. I cannot get information like this readily elsewhere. So contextual and informative with backgrounds and deep seeded interests with a healthy dose of skepticism. I have followed 20 new Instagram accounts about the war and geopolitics, read plenty of news articles, but I rely on this place by far. Keep up the good work people.
