From a physical land perspective and force projection/sphere of influence yes. Doesn’t mean we don’t also have valid concern for our own interests, both economic and defense.

Any interests we may have had here have been circumvented by China. We have lost whatever global play we were making.

Perhaps one day you’ll meet a woman willing to bear your children. If so, by the time they’re in high school , you most likely will have Venmo. If not then, 100% chance you’ll have it by the time they go off to college.

This makes no sense. Already have one in high school. What on earth does that have to do with Venmo?

I'd rather my taxes go to Ukraine than your gender reassignment.

British Defence Intelligence
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 17 April 2023

Mine-related civilian casualties continue to be reported daily in Ukraine. The most affected areas are Kherson and Kharkiv oblasts: areas Russia has previously occupied.

With the arrival of spring, and more people involved in agricultural activities, the risk of civilian mine incidents will increase.

Over 750 mine related casualties among civilians have been reported since the start of the invasion - one in eight has involved a child. It will likely take at least a decade to clear Ukraine of mines.

It’s always amusing those who have never been to war so thirsty for war.

For starters, it’s never been an either or choice. Both occur, and will continue to. Govt doesn’t cut spending. That said, I’d rather spend money on meaningful national defense than on continuing to support Shaquita’s 12th kid she’s mooching the system with.

Personally, I never begrudge anyone (rich or poor) who gains from a system that does nothing but take.

Good thing the French and British in the 1930s alienated their treaty partners and weren’t thirsty for war… saved all those lives, right?

Reality is you’re too stupid to see past your nose… the idea a few lives lost and money spent today could prevent a much larger catastrophe down the road is impossible for you to comprehend.

I think almost all of us agree. Russia should not have invaded Ukraine, and the best way to end the war is for Russia to withdraw.

Most of the regular contributors here, or at least a good bit of them, are combat vets. Hell, one of them is in Ukraine right now. You need to borrow a new line, sorry.

This view is short sighted. Stopping Russia now and keeping Ukraine's territorial sovereignty will do more to head off a much larger war in Europe and bring back the status quo of a war free Europe. It will also go along way to deter other nations (Read as China) from thinking that territorial expansion via military

EDIT: and a majority of the weapon systems we are sending are decommissioned or stored equipment (like the bradleys)

You really think a large scale European-Russian war is a possibility?
