Im of the opinion the fricktards were going to spend the money anyways, might as well spend it trying to bring down russia.

I’m of that opinion as well. Except that I would add that I don’t want student loans forgiven for ppl with bullshite degrees in liberal arts and other shite like that.

All four of the last conservative Presidents that we have had all ran up pretty big deficits. Basically nobody cares about the deficit once they get in office. I hate it because it eventually does trickle down to taxpayers and consumers by having higher taxes, a weaker dollar, and higher interest rates. Until the US has a balanced budget amendment passed and ratified then that is just how it is.

Ukraine’s Armed Forces hit Antonivsky railway bridge in Kherson
4 August, 04:32 PM

Explosions were heard in the area of the Antonivsky railway bridge in Kherson overnight on Aug. 4, the Ukrainian military’s Strategic Command said in a Telegram post, and shared a video of the event.

“The strike, it seems, was not only on the bridge itself but also on ‘humanitarian aid and mineral fertilizers,’ which the intellectually deficient (Russians) dragged over for delivery across the river,” the military said, referring to common false Russian claims that their ammunition and weapons supply shipments are humanitarian aid and fertilizers.

Does this mean the reflectors didn't work?

It’s an easy call between the f-16 and f-18. The f-16 is the easy decision just based on cost and pure numbers alone. The f-16 outnumbers the f-18 almost 4:1 in pure numbers and is lighter, cheaper and is easier to maintain. It has only one engine to the hornet’s 2 so there’s less upkeep there but the f-16 still has better thrust to weight ratio than the f-18 even with a single engine since the falcon’s only engine is extremely powerful and the aircraft is about 25% lighter than the f-18. The falcon turns better at speed but the f-18 is better at slow speeds. Mainly though you’d want the f-16 because it has been our most sold aircraft to other counties around Ukraine so you have parts and people who are trained to work on the aircraft everywhere across the globe and have airfields equipped to handle the aircraft. Like you said we have plenty sitting in storage and more coming out of service every year to be replaced by the f-35 but still have a lot of life left to give and are still well matched against what the Russians are flying.

4k F-16 airplanes. Just the capacity and maintenance cost has to be in the billions every year.

That’s the total number of airframes built though not how many we have in our active fleet. The f-16 is the largest global selling fighter in the world today so a good percentage of that 4,000+ number are flying for other air forces across the world. Even so the f-16 is still our most numerous fighter in our own active fleet right now but is slowly being replaced by the f-35 as the primary multi role fighter as we are making the transition to a stealth majority fighter fleet.

Probably, we'll have to wait on video and further reports to confirm extent of damage.

The F16 and the F18 are the only two 4th generation fighters with enough airplanes in storage to make a difference. The USAF has hundreds of F16s in storage and the US marines just retired the F18 A/B models last year. So it will be one of those two airframes.

The F-18 is built for Naval warfare and therefore more expensive since naval operations wear out airframes

The F-16 is IMO the best built fighter aircraft of all time. It is deadlier than nearly everything except purpose built air superiority fighters and has an incredible ground attack capability. Their cost to operate is what pushes it over the edge into GOAT territiory. I can't think of another airframe that compares in terms of agility, capability, and cost

^ this. The F-15 is still our unquestioned best true dog fighter aircraft but the f-16 pound for pound is hard to beat when you need to be able to fly with other fighters, attack ground targets and be forgiving and durable enough to hold up over time. It’s the quintessential “jack of all trades, master of none” aircraft. That in a nutshell is what the Ukrainians need.

The retreat continues. I wonder how much longer the US taxpayer is going to keep propping up Ukraine when it's clear they will collapse.

Brilliant strategy by our officials while we're in a recession.

This is like losing Ruston while pushing to within artillery distance of New Orleans.

Cope harder

Looks like the pro-Russian retards finally got their new talking points. Use a meaningless and insignificant Russian advance to cover up the fact that the Russians are steadily getting pushed back onto Kherson and Metiplol eventually which are the two most strategic places in the Donbas.

So?

It wasn't so long ago you posted this:

The Eastern Front has collapsed and Ukraine is in full retreat.

Falling back from a bad position is not indicative of a total collapse.

Since you posted that the Ukrainian front lines have collapsed, how much advance has russia made exactly...not much.

Your just the last remaining russian shite poster.

That’s a nice way of spinning a retreat because they’re getting annihilated.

Zelensky himself said it’s hell and is calling for all the citizens to leave Donetsk because he knows they’re losing.
