That could have been said word for word by Americans in 1939. And was.

Russian forces have made significant gains in the past 24 hours in the areas west of Toshkivka as Ukrainian forward positions in the area collapsed. Russians are now trying to close the gap above Zolote from the East and West.
The majority of UA units have withdrawn.

That’s a month old, potentially older

And if you zoom out of the microscopic snapshot you posted, you’ll see the overall picture is still virtually the same as the “older” map he posted. Russia didn’t launch an invasion and waste 40,000 plus of its finest (and I use that generously) soldiers to capture a few towns here and there.

If it was the map I posted and it’s a month old, I will remove it.

Apparently they are

The penny wont drop for these simps until Volodymyr Zelenskyy is sharing the stage with fellow presenter Eva Longoria and nodding solemnly while she lectures us about President DeSantis' brand of "American fascism" during the 2026 OSCARS.

I’ll be interested to see how long Russia can sustain using their artillery the way they are just demolishing cities then calling that victory. I know they have a large stockpile of old Soviet era guns and ammunition but even for them they are using up a hell of a lot to gain very little ground. The Ukrainians are paying a big price but time is on their side not Russia’s.

Confident it was and we know the outcome of the intervention and are still living with it.

What we will never know is what would have happened if we hadn't - there is no answer; only speculations - cannot prove an unknown

This is an INTENSE video from the Russian point of view of a Ukrainian missile strike on an ammunition depot somewhere in the Donbass a day or two ago.

This is filmed by one of the Russians trying to escape.

Ukraine can put what 2 million into this fight relying only on locals. Can Russia match that? Can Putin stay in power with 1-2 million dead?

We may get to see

So Russia is Germany and Ukraine is Poland in this comparison to what viewpoints Americans proclaimed in 1939 when Germany invaded Poland and then started to blitzkrieg through Europe while Russia can barely move line in Ukraine? Obama then was a freaking moron minimizing Romney’s concerns about Russia along with Democrats who agreed and only flipped to hating Russian in November 2016. Can we take back the Uranium mine? Put Clinton on trial for accepting donations to charity while Hillary pushed approving uranium sale to Russia. Maybe it was Obama, Hillary, Biden and supporters that were closest to your example of the 1939 viewpoint said and used by Americans. Without Russian reset or Obama administration punting on Crimea and Donbas maybe this conflict wouldn’t be happening now…

Posts are made fun of for fearing another World War and same laugh at concerns about Russia and it’s performance in this conflict, but when it’s convenient this conflict gets compared to WWII.

The new commander of the VDV planned the capture of Lyman. He did a good job apparently.

Teplinsky was born in Donetsk Oblast in 1969, joined the Soviet Armed Forces in 1987, and graduated from the airborne academy in 1991. He earned the title of Hero of the Russian Federation for his performance in the first Chechen War.

quote:

On the tragic day of January 1, 1995, at the head of a group of scouts, he made his way to the center of Grozny, to the area of the railway station, where the military equipment of the dead units of the 131st Maikop motorized rifle brigade was still burning. He identified a building that towered over the surrounding microdistrict and the buildings of the station and customs. The possession of this building allowed to control the entire area. Having quietly penetrated the building, the paratroopers silently eliminated a group of militants who were in it, including two men with grenade launchers and one sniper.

A few hours later, the first large group of Dudayevites (12 people), walking around in ecstasy from the victory, perished under heavy fire from the paratroopers. All enemy attempts to recapture the building ended only with new losses of the attackers. For several days, Teplinsky’s company successfully repelled enemy attacks, and part of the time - in conditions of complete encirclement. In total, during the defense of the building, the paratroopers killed 44 militants. The courageous defense of the paratroopers made it possible to keep the adjacent region of Grozny under the control of Russian troops.

He distinguished himself in further battles while crossing the Sunzha River. When going around posts on a busy bridgehead with one of the sergeants of his company, he suddenly ran into 10 militants. In a short fight, Teplinskiy and a sergeant killed 5 militants. Then, with reinforcements arriving, the commander of the reconnaissance company combed the area. At the same time, another enemy group was identified, from which 12 militants were killed on the spot.
