active air combat.
Key Takeaways

Ukrainian sources stated that the coming week will be decisive for Russian forces to complete the capture of Severodonetsk and that Russian forces will focus troops and equipment on the area.

Ukrainian sources confirmed that Russian forces control all of Severodonetsk with the exception of the Azot industrial zone, where fights are ongoing.

Russian sources are likely setting information conditions to justify slow and unsuccessful advances towards Slovyansk from the southeast of Izyum and west of Lyman.

Russian forces are likely intensifying operations to interdict Ukrainian lines of communication along the T1302 Bakhmut-Lysychansk highway in order to support escalating operations in Severodonetsk-Lysychansk.

Russian forces continued to focus on resisting further Ukrainian advances north of Kharkiv City towards the international border.

Russian forces are continuing defensive operations along the Southern Axis.

Ukrainian partisan activity is continuing to complicate efforts by Russian occupation authorities to consolidate control of occupied areas.
Ukrainian Minister Uryna Vereshchuk is calling on remaining civilians to evacuate Kherson by any route available. A precursor to the alleged larger Southern counteroffensive. Well see.

Guaranteed that if China would attack the USA not a European swinging dick would come help us. They would hold back Then line up to suck the balls of whoever is winning. They would not hesitate to come back groveling when we would whip China arse.

From today’s NYT on the state of the Donbas campaign (also - how do you link to articles opened in the app?).

General Conclusion - Luhansk likely falls to Russians in next 2 weeks but further gains in the Donbas and beyond. No major breakthroughs or changes expected for either side over the next few months.

“After weeks of bloody battles in the east — with as many as 200 Ukrainian soldiers killed daily, by the government’s own estimate, and a similar or higher toll among Russian troops, according to Western estimates — Russia holds roughly the same amount of territory in Donetsk as the separatists controlled in February before the invasion.

But U.S. officials say they expect Russia to soon take over the entire Luhansk region. One defense official said he anticipated that the twin cities of Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk would fall in days, as Russian forces pounded the area with heavy artillery and “dumb bombs” — unguided munitions that inflict high casualties.”

"Even though terrain could change hands, “neither side has the mass to exploit minor gains,” Christopher M. Dougherty, a former Army Ranger and a defense analyst at the Center for a New American Security, said in a Twitter post this month. “The war now likely becomes a test of endurance.”

I think you’re conflating Germany France and Italy with the Newer NATO members, the closer you get to Ukraine the more urgent and high stakes the response. Poland Czech Republic Moldavia and the Baltics are well aware of how their world changed back in March.

Early reports so takes with a grain of salt

"Ukrainian troops broke through the first defence line of Russians in Kherson province," governor's adviser says.
Russians now are fortifying the second and the third lines.
Soldiers on the Kherson front keep asking for long range artillery / missiles or they can't make a viable attempt at re occupation.

Russia failing in its attempt to get Kazakhstan on board with this war.

1) Tokayev says he wants to be on the Western side if there is another Iron curtain

2) Visits Russia & to Putins face ( without stuttering) defended Ukraines territorial integrity. Refused to recognize Ukrainian breakaways & even dismissed S. Ossetia ( Georgia).

3) Tokayev then went after Russian critics: " Some people assert that Russia allegedly ' saved' Kazakhstan & we should now eternally serve & bow to the feet of Russia....These are totally unjustified arguments that are far from reality".

An autocrat , but Tokayev has balls of steel & I don't think we'll see Kazakh assistance with Putins war anytime soon.

no i know they are aware, i kind of generalized there but most of those countries have not been spending their full requirement for defense.

same with taiwan.

if they dont care enough to spend the minimum then they honestly dont care if they get their shite wrecked and get invaded.....so why should I?

Money from Qatar and Saudi Arabia poured into Libya to support the rebellion against Daffy Duck, then in proxy fights against each other.

It is unbelievable that any Ukrainian civilians would actually still be in eastern Ukraine at this point.

The requirement is tied to percent of GDP. There is even a special program with incentives for companies of NATO members to make profits in the USA to enable those countries to pay their fair share.

That makes Erik Prince's claim of last week valid, less than 5% of what was promised has arrived in Ukraine.

So? And what's with you and the childish monikers? It's odd. Aren't you the guy who always uses "Putain"? And now "Daffy Duck"? Weird, man.

Russia is bogged down against a country our National Guard would have subjugated in 72 hours. Yet, they're a danger to Europe? Stop.

They’re bogged down very much because of US & UK intelligence, training, and equipment. Without that they’d probably be done here. Aside from that, Ukraine can win the war, regain territory, and it still be a drastic problem Russia was there. Infrastructure, cities, economic output DESTROYED in many places.

And if they are a danger, I guess it's incumbent on Europe to sack up and spend the money to defend themselves. When are y'all going to quit letting Western Europe play us for chumps by having us tote the load for their security?

I agree here, I just don’t pretend to know the exact answer that doesn’t involve creating the power vacuum and jeopardize European trade/economy via Russian aggression.

My first thought is us and the UK more directly partner with Eastern Europe and make Poland the point leader for that group. That is however going to begin a further divide in continental Europe so that is a long term risk.

Lavrov & other Russian pundits/ pms have actually discussed mistreatment of Russian Speakers in Kazakhstan. They will soon justify protecting & liberating those Russian speakers just as they did in Ukraine/Mariupol.
