??Russia stops shipment of Kazakh oil after Tokayev's statements at the SPIEF, while Kazakhstan blocks 1,700 wagons with Russian coal on its territory, - media

Russia looking quite alone where it matters most. Countries like Germany and France while helpful to Russia by not really following sanctions and putting themselves in dependent situations towards Russia we’re never going to help Russia fight. The Kazakhstans on the other hand have the security treaty with Russia. Belarus looks like they’re about it for Russia.

Changes on the Ukrainian frontline in the last month. Russian gains are in purple, Ukrainian gains in yellow.

Very little territory has changed hands. The fighting has shifted to very slow & grinding advances, reliant on artillery more than maneuver

I doubt it for several reasons. China gets 20% of its natural gas from and through Kazakhstan. This is NOT a time for Russia to be poking the Panda. Even with limited direct resistance the Russian army is in no position to mess around with a country that is more than 4 times the size of Ukraine. Kazakhstan has a majority Muslim population that is unlikely to bow down, and this also could easily lead to Arab states ramping up their oil production to retaliate. It just isn't worth it to Russia. I really doubt that Ukraine will have been worth it either.

Agree with all of this. I remember back at the beginning of the year when Russia was in Kazakhstan the concern for China was there. China kicked out a bunch of crypto miners who overwhelmingly went to Kazakhstan. Then of course you have the natural resources as you mentioned: Oil, LNG, vital to uranium mining. Kazakhstan also borders China.

A brief review of the right wing messaging on the PoliBoard shows that the conservative wing of American politics is all in on supporting Russia, to the point that the was an entire thread over the weekend where posters wrote how and why they would prefer Putin as the ruler of America.

I bring this up not to address the substance of the sentiments, just that there is a calculus on the right to make support for Russia or support for Ukraine a wedge issue in upcoming domestic elections.

Once again your liberal dumbassness has made you make a liberal dumbass statement. 100 or so dumbass posters on the political board do not represent the right in the USA. Are the dems in that much trouble that they are going to try and tie the right to Russia again?

Yeah, it seems like most Kazakhs have some Chinese\Mongolian blood. Russia really does not want to push them towards China, who would love the resources and an largely empty country that their people could move into.

Sorry you find the comments of your friends to be so embarrassing that you have to refer to them as "dumbass posters." By the way, I agree with your assessment.

It's definitely a problem! It's an intentional problem caused by Russia and has been via Syria,

Last time I checked it was the Obama's CIA and POS republicans like John McCain who tried to overthrow Assad which resulted in the Syrian civil war which was the cause of Syrians fleeing to Europe.

and now with Ukraine, though thankfully the net migration flow is back into Ukraine at this point.

Oh thank Jeebus, we cannot allow white Christians to emigrate to the EU or the USA! How can we diversify Europe and America if that happens?

Has anyone seen the present condition of the Bakhmut highway?

Surely this road must be under constant shelling and severely degraded by now.

Is there anything free to see the most recent satellite imagery from the area between Bakhmut and Severodonetsk?

With most of his army floundering in Ukraine, I don't see how he can pull it off.

Twitter thread on how Russia is attempting to address its manpower shortage. TL;DR, cajoling volunteers with offers of paying off loans (many in Russia's rural areas are saddled with crippling debt they have no hope of getting out from under); sending the volunteers, many of who are middle aged or older into combat with less than a week's training. This rabble comprises the bulk of Russia's infantry in Ukraine now. LINK

The Russian took a few towns south of Lisichansk today. Trapping some Ukrainian forces in and around Zolote. The LPR claims there are 2,500 Ukrainian there.

I could give a rat's meow about either of the two - let them figure out whatever has them twisted around an axle. I don't have a need for any USD being given to anyone except American citizens who are getting eaten alive by the decisions of the elected. But, but, but xyz will happen if...well, maybe it needs to happen
