Nothing but rumors just like we were told North Korea's dictator was dead or in a coma for months last year.

Austin & Milley just finished their press conference at the conclusion of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting
A few items of note...
The US will provide an additional 18 M777 howitzers and the rest of the allies will provide around 82 for a total of 100 new 155 artillery. This brings the grand total of 155 artillery to around 300.
The US will provide 30000 155 rounds.
The only new MLRS systems are 3 from Germany.
The US will provide 2 harpoon systems.
They were heavily questioned regarding the low number of heavy weapons.
Also, Milley said that the Ukrainians just finished their HIMARS training yesterday - June 14.

I wouldn't expect a Putin successor to pack up the army and go home. It's very possible though that two or more factions would vie for power, perhaps violently. That, of course would have major implications for the war effort.
That would be interesting. I am skeptical that anything this dramatic could occur. But then again, there is almost no reliable information publicly available about the inside of the Russian power structure.
Eventually we will see what a post-Putin Russia looks like. Maybe sooner rather than later.

So the Ukranian second string ran the Russians out of Kiev?
That doesn’t say much for Russian soldiers or their generals.

I can understand why. This list is not consistent with the "will do anything necessary" comment made the other day.

Excellent post! This is exactly what is taking place. We're dumping billions of dollars without any control of how or where it goes. We dumped billions in stimulus money and now reading headlines that millions or billion were stolen and to think the exact same thing is not going on now, with Ukraine, is ludicrous.

Any successor is already part of Putin's insiders group so if anything they very well may ramp it up to show the Russian citizens that they are in control and have the power.

I'm concerned that the USA is prolonging a war that Ukraine cannot win, thus causing further catastrophic increase in debt that the USA cannot pay for, AND thus causing further loss of life and destruction of property, which, I am convinced that the USA will pay to re-build, as part of a peace deal with Russia, after Russia wins the war.
And after watching the impact on OUR economy and OUR way of life, Scruffy is starting to believe the people who support the continuation of the war want that exact outcome.
There is no other reason as to why they would want the USA to suffer while generally improving Russia’s economic prospects.

I guarantee the one's supporting it haven't sent 1 dime of their own money to their cause. The ones giving you DV are not true Americans.

Doing that purposefully can be excused as merely evil, but doing that while thinking that you are “doing good” is either a sign of being high or insane.
How long are WE supposed to suffer the consequences of the sanctions placed on Russia before y’all realize that this was all performed horribly?

"...while generally improving Russia's economic prospect."
Wut?
Russia's economy will contract by almost 9% this year. it cannot keep up with its pension obligations and ordinary staples of life are hard to find and harder to afford. Russia is suffering from serious brain drains among its young and millionaires are leaving the country at record rates. To stay afloat they are selling fossil fuels to China and India, but at a loss to market pricing.
Russia's economy is being hurt badly.

Well, it has now become apparent that what we have done has hurt us far more than Russia and has resulted in a shift in the global economy that doesn’t favor us in any way…and has favored Russia. How strong is the Ruble currently?
IMO, anyone who wants to continue down this same trajectory must actually be pro-Russia/Putin.
I wanted nothing to do with this situation. No intervention. No sanctions. No money and weapons sent.
Hotter heads appeared to win that argument, sadly.
