Well, it has now become apparent that what we have done has hurt us far more than Russia and has resulted in a shift in the global economy that doesn’t favor us in any way…and has favored Russia.
IMO, anyone who wants to continue down this same trajectory must actually be pro-Russia/Putin.
Excellent post!

Here is a link to CNN so you don't think I'm biased.
So they are giving our American tax dollars as cash to Ukrainian citizens to help while we Americans get stuck paying the bill and having our own suffering.

There is no other reason as to why they would want the USA to suffer while generally improving Russia’s economic prospects.

What do you want a trophy? The fact is we are giving cash out to non Americans. This is not about you being right or wrong.
Took me literally 2 minutes to find my information from more than 1 source.

One of the key indicators of deciding if someone is a simpleton is their showing you they think in binary or sequential order
The USA has TWO major needs that they are addressing concurrently.
We must inhibit the growth and power of Russia whose history has shown it to be antithetical to American interests.
We also must do more to address the economic issues domestically.
We are the most powerful nation in the history of mankind, we can do both at the same time.

So you're going to ignore what your own eyes tell you with the current affairs presently in America. We are not doing both right now so obviously your statement is a fantasy.

Cypher do you not find it troubling that our DOD sent out a press release showing only the spending for weapons while totally ignoring the fact that 20% of the money was going to other needs including cash for Ukrainian citizens. They left it out on purpose.

We are doing a bang up job of addressing them both.
I’m looking forward to the addressing of the sky high gas and food prices.
Maybe we can place more sanctions and intervene in more countries. If there is anything I’ve learned over the past two years is that doubling down is ALWAYS the best course of action.
Oh, I have a great idea! Let’s try price controls!
If y’all wanted me to support something like this, y’all shouldn’t have pushed for the USA to waste 20 years in the Middle East at the expense of our own country, learn nothing from the conflict, and then immediately jump into dumping more of America’s economy into another conflict.
This shite is beyond tiresome at this point.

ISW is confirming the reports.

Southern Axis Update: #Ukrainian forces have reportedly advanced to within 18 km of occupied parts of #Kherson (though we cannot confirm exact positions), which is likely placing pressure on Russian forces to strengthen their defensive lines in the south.

Yes the Kherson referendum has been cancelled.
The Russians have moved their HQ there to the rear, 155 shells are landing in the city proper.

The ISW wrote this today
Gleb Bazov reposted Kotenok’s original comments.
The short of it, the ISW’s reporting is dishonest.
quote:
The Russian military leadership continues to expand its pool of eligible recruits by manipulating service requirements. Russian milblogger Yuri Kotyenok suggested that Russian authorities are preparing to increase the age limit for military service from 40 to 49 and to drop the existing requirement for past military service to serve in tank and motorized infantry units.[5] If true, the shift demonstrates the Kremlin's increasing desperation for recruits to fill frontline units, regardless of their poor skills. Kotyenok echoed calls made by other milbloggers to reduce the health requirements for those serving in rear and support roles.[6] Kotyenok additionally noted that while Russian recruits must have clean criminal records to serve, private military companies such as the Wagner Group will allow those with “mild misdemeanors” into service and that many of these low-level offenders have been mobilized into combat with Wagner in Donetsk and Luhansk. The Russian military leadership will likely continue efforts to expand the pool of eligible recruits, even at the cost of high-quality military personnel.

Russia needs soldiers, doctors and volunteers
For those who want to volunteer to go to Ukraine
Many Russians are interested in how to take part in a special operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine. Let's explain the situation.
For those who want to fight, there are five options:
1) a contract with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation at the place of residence;
2) as a volunteer through the Russian University of Special Forces (RUS) in Chechen Gudermes;
3) volunteer in the army of the DNR and LNR;
4) through the Union of Donbass Volunteers (UDV);
5) through PMC "Wagner".
In terms of the severity of the selection, the most requirements are when concluding an official contract with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, incl. age limit up to 40 years. Compulsory military service for those heading to the SMO zone [GB: Prior mandatory military service (a compulsory term of 12 months, with some exemptions, for men aged 18-27 only), is required for those being sent to the Special Military Operation (“SMO”)]. Some positions can be taken without a "term" [GB: Some contract positions can be offered without prior mandatory military service].
Less stringent requirements in RUS [GB: Russian University of Spetsnaz]: up to 49 years old, military service experience is not required (recruitment for tankists and motorized riflemen). Softer requirements in the UDV [GB: Union of Donbass Volunteers] (experience in military service is also not required). The most loyal [GB: relaxed] requirements in the LDNR [GB: DNR and LNR] (up to 60 years).
When concluding a contract [GB: With the Russian Armed Forces] and when traveling through RUS [GB: Russian University of Spetsnaz], a lack of criminal record is required. The PMC "Wagner" turns a blind eye to "soft" articles [GB: misdemeanors, administrative, or summary offences], but with "strict" articles [GB: felonies, indictable offense, serious crimes] it is impossible (experience in military service is not required here either). Almost everyone is mobilized in the LDNR.
There are not enough people in the special operation zone, primarily in the rear and security units [GB, the exact translation is: In the Special Operation Zone, the deficit of personnel is felt primarily in the rear and security (i.e. units providing security for military objects, in the rear) units]. The RF Armed Forces have liberated more than 100,000 square kilometers from the Kyiv regime; [GB, here Google Translate literally cut off half of the paragraph, so I took the non-translated part and translated it in a separate browser window] we set up roadblocks, commandant's offices, military-civilian administrations, divert military personnel to humanitarian operations.
Military correspondents come up with [GB: are advocating for] a proposal to raise the age limit and reduce health requirements for those who serve in rembats [GB: repair battalions], medical battalions, as cooks, etc. "Why does a Rembat serviceman need 100% vision? What difference does it make if a cook has flat feet?", military commander Alexander Sladkov formulated the essence of the matter.
50-55-year-old men mobilized in the LDNR were nicknamed "iron helmets" for their help to the assault squads. In the battles for Mariupol, "iron helmets" took out the wounded and the dead, brought BC [GB: ammunition], pulled communications lines, brought food, stood in a cordon, and participated in direct clashes with the enemy. One of the commanders called them the bones and veins of this war and offered to cast a special "Iron Helmets" medal from Mariupol metal as recognition of their military merits. These are ordinary men who in peacetime would not even be allowed to enter the military registration and enlistment office. And in war they are of great benefit, at their age it is quite possible to fulfill the tasks assigned to them. Also, Russian men, who are 50 and above, will be able to perform similar combat missions [GB: Russian men, who are 50 and above, would just as easily be able to perform similar combat missions].
Contact details of RUS, SDD, Wagner PMC, LDNR military registration and enlistment offices can be found on the Internet. Newly arrived fighters are provided with everything necessary. Before the trip, check the list of documents that you need to take with you.
Surgeons [also] can go to the LPR. They are very needed there. They [are] promise[d] a solid payment, the recording [GB: enlistment/recruitment] is carried out by phone. +7-931-295-95-95. If someone wants to provide humanitarian assistance to the Donbass as a volunteer, she will also be welcome.
Russia needs soldiers at all times, and these days even the lazy can defend their homeland with weapons in their hands - all doors are open.

No, it's called the Department of Defense for a reason. Humanitarian aid announcements are usually announced by the state department.
1 billion in security assistance ( DoD )
225 million in humanitarian aid (state dept & white house) not a part of the 1 billion above
No conspiracy to "leave it out on purpose" by the DoD.
