I don't see that same recognition by anyone in Russia who's in a position to do something about it .

I think the Russian leadership is aware of Russias problems. And there’s a genuine desire to bring the country out of poverty. Much of Russia is quite poor.

There’s so much to do though, so much basic investment to make, and they will be dealing with the cultural damage the Soviets inflicted for many generations to come. The Soviets wrecked rural society for example.

The corruption is bad too, and it gets worse the further you get from Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

For example, The best prison camp you could be in Germany was a US/Brit Officer camp. They weren’t kind to them but they followed the rules of war and treated them with some semblance of respect.

Look up the Black March you fool.

This isn’t Hogan’s Heroes, that was the real world. This country definitely has our share of blood on our hands since then but trying to compare the USA to what Germany was trying to do just because we took some Germans in is laughable.

Russia would hit a manpower and logistics crunch by late May or early June, after which they wouldn't be able to conduct offensive operations. If this is true, looks like they nailed it.

I don’t know why the Ukrainian general staff made that claim. It’s not accurate.

The Russians are making steady progress. And at the same rate they have for a couple of weeks now.

The most significant developments this week were north of Slavayansk. They cleared the north bank of the Seversky Donets, and they’re now clearing the forests to the north of the city.

The DPR said the battle for Slavayansk has started, but that’s premature.

The Russians also pushed closer to Bakhmut, they’re on the outskirts of Pokrovskoye now.

They’ve also pushed the Ukrainians back around Kharkov, and down in Kherson.

How long before this turns into insurgent warfare? I didn’t think what happened in the Middle East over the last 20 years would be happening in Europe right now, but here we are.

I don’t know

The terrain isn’t great for it. It’s the same problem the Poles had in WW2. Perhaps they can hide in the cities though.

If we’re talking about a post war insurgency. I don’t think the Europeans would support it. They’ll want this to be over.

You do realize these people have ALWAYS hated Russians and are fighting for their homes and families while the Russian conscripts don’t know why the frick they are even there dying by the bushel. That makes a big big difference. They will have to die more than the Russians have in all the years since WW2 just to take a piece of the country. Now Ukraine is slowly getting better trained soldiers with better equipment than Russians from western countries. How many soldiers is Putin willing to send home in pine boxes to take a piece of East Ukraine? And that is by no means assured with the way the Russian troops have operated so far. The U.S. military would destroy the Russian military in less than a month.

Lyudmilla is now claiming the Russian soldiers made Ukrainian children sit through drag queen story time at gunpoint in Eastern Ukrainian town squares.

Disgusting if true.

The fact is the Russians are not "winning" they are just not being routed anymore.

Please see this - twitter and a few other news stories -

Sanctions are hitting Russian industry incredibly hard.

Compared to last year, Russia had an
-85% drop in passenger car production
-80% drop in Fiber optic cable production
-70% drop in AC electric motor production
-50% drop in fridges, washing machines, and elevator production

Biggest jumps were in
semiconductor devices and parts (68%, trying to compensate for lost imports)
electric locomotives (43%)
diesel locomotives (58%)
sunflower oil (30%)
suitcases (30%)

You are just so outrageously wrong, but to be fair, you are wrong due to propaganda so it's difficult to assign blame.

These Eastern Ukranians are comprised in large part by people who A) have a high opinion of Putin and B) consider themselves to be Russia. Ignoring that after being informed is only done as a matter of political expediancy

They have never been routed. Ukraine is losing, though they have given it a good fight. Even though Russia will come away with about 20% of the country they have lost their " power" status in the public eye. I love that Russia being seen as a superpower is evaporating and also love it that a slimy crooked homophobic country like Ukraine is getting smacked around. I hope they both lose

And California, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico are comprised by large numbers of Mexicans. Does that mean we should cede those states over to Mexico?

And I love that you don't seem to realize that Russia is just as slimy, crooked, and homophobic vis a vis Ukraine, if not moreso.

INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE
10 June 2022

Fighting continues around Sieverodonetsk. Russia is again in control of most of the
city, but its forces have made little progress in attempts to encircle the wider area
from the north and south.

• Russia is struggling to provide basic public services to the population in
Russian-occupied territories. Access to safe drinking water has been inconsistent,
while major disruption to telephone and internet services continues. There is likely a
critical shortage of medicines in Kherson, while Mariupol is at risk of a major cholera
outbreak. Isolated cases of cholera have been reported since May.

Ukraine suffered a major cholera epidemic in 1995, and has experienced minor
outbreaks since, especially around the Azov Sea coast - which includes Mariupol.
Medical services in Mariupol are likely already near collapse: a major cholera
outbreak in Mariupol will exacerbate this further.

Since your reading comprehension is so poor let me point out that I said I hope they both lose and I was glad Russia's image was being tarnished.

It means those people probably don't "hate" Mexico in the same way that these Eastern Ukranians don't "hate" Russia, unlike the poster who I replied to stated.

What's up with Russia sending troops to Nicaragua? They trying to establish a place for Putin to flee Russia?
