I’m not seeing we plan to annex all of Ukraine anywhere. The reality is that Ukraine will turn in to a shvthole rump state like Moldova and Zelensky will be overthrown for being a shvt bag president

Probably Kalibr - They have a range of hundreds of miles and carry high explosives or nukes. Meanwhile Putin whines about escalation when Ukraine is supplied with rocket artillery.

Only for the last ~100 years. The Soviets displaced the inhabitants of the area and brought in Slavic Russians.

The West needs to give more equipment to the Ukrainians so they can defeat the Russians

Yea I know. Which makes Putin's whining about escalation even more ridiculous.

And Mexicans, by in large, favor Mexico. So according to your logic, Mexico annexing the southwestern border states would be the logical thing to do, since a large chunk of the population see themselves as Mexican, not American.

What are you talking about?

I was simply correcting your wrong assertion that they have a long standing hatred of Russia.

You made an incorrect assertion, I pointed out that it was wrong. That doesn't mean I support Russia annexing anybody, it only means that I understand that Eastern Ukranians are close with Russia

Ukrainians have a long standing hatred of Russia. Russians living in the Eastern Provinces of Ukraine do not.

No Ukrainian would ever, in a million fricking years, willingly be part of Russia.

28th Separate Mechanized Brigade artillerymen strike Russian positions in the South

10 June, 2022

The defense forces of Ukraine stroke Russian positions with artillery in the southern direction.

The 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the First Winter Campaign was the one to conduct the successful attack on the enemy.

The artillerymen hit disguised armored vehicles stationed at the battle positions with prepared field shelters.

My reading comprehension is fine. I pointed out that when comparing the two countries, the only reference you made to being slimy, crooked, and homophobic was for Ukraine. If, in fact, you meant to include Russia in that descriptive, then you need to work on your sentence structure.

QUESTION: Why do you guys engage Palmetto? He has engaged in nothing but trolling for the past several pages. Ignore the guy. He hasn't brought anything meaningful to the thread in a very long time, if ever.

P.S. I've been to New Delhi, that does not mean I'm an expert or even knowledgeable about Indian foreign policy or military capabilities. What an arse.

Eastern Ukrainians DO not prefer Russia to Ukraine, period.

quote:

Moreover, in 1991 not only Ukrainians but also Russians and other nationalities — 83% of Donbas inhabitants — voted for Ukrainian independence…

Go frick YOURSELVES for spreading this Russian disinformation.

quote:

Crimea was the only Ukrainian region where Ukrainians were the minority.
quote:

Russian propaganda has claimed that Donbas and other south-eastern oblasts of Ukraine were simply Russia’s regions artificially appended to Ukraine. This, in particular, was stated in the separatist project of “Novorossiya” for Ukraine in 2014. According to it, all south-eastern Ukraine was to belong to Russia or to participate in a so-called confederation of people’s republics.
quote:

“Novorossia” as a political, not historical concept, was first defined by Putin in his speech on 17 April 2014. It was also proclaimed on 22 May 2014 by the first congress of the “Novorossia party” held in Donetsk, attended by Aleksandr Dugin, the Russian philosopher and one of the founders of the imperial Neo-Eurasianism political movement, which pits the “Atlanticist New World Order” (mostly, the US and the UK) against the Russia-centered “New Eurasian Order.”

quote:

Donbas was populated mainly by Ukrainians in all periods of its history from the 17th century till today; during 1917-1918 Revolution it belonged to Ukrainian peoples Republic;

Simply put: Russia stole Donetsk once, and they are trying to steal it once again.

It appears that Putin has been planning to annex these areas for the last 20- 30 years and now, since he is nearing death, he has put his plan in motion, before he dies and someone more rational takes over (hopefully).
