If a man has equal status it’s not really dating down either. And the woman decides if his status is sufficient. Lack of money can be overcome with celebrity or talent or whatever else she values.
I watched an interview with Danica Patrick today and thought how small her dating pool must be. She’s essentially a 6’5 woman. There likely won’t be many men on that level who are available for her to choose from because men on that level have so many options. So being too high status can be a curse for a woman.
