Shreveport PD arrested the owner of Cannabis with Love last month for the same thing. (Like there’s nothing more important in Shreveport to investigate.) She was out the next day and opened for business that afternoon. All the publicity has been a boom for her business.

I’m sure the Shreveport PD got an earful for it. They wasted man hours and tax dollars on something that’s legal when they could be trying to work on something more important. Like the 3-4 daily shootings we have. It’s just jacked up priorities and them trying to get the low hanging fruit.

I agree with the premise that state's rights are important-more so now than ever.
I'm also a staunch libertarian, and I believe that the government- especially the federal government- ought to keep his filthy hands out of our lives unless constitutionally justified.
This instance is a prime example of why state's rights are so important, and there's a silver lining to this incident: It's a lot easier to fight for your rights and freedoms on the state level- when the folks making the laws are in your backyard- as opposed to when they're 15 hours away. It's easy for those sleazy arseholes to "check out" and head to their land of milk and honey, as opposed to the ones who have to listen to your opinion from across the fence as they try to grill hamburgers.

I know that smoothie place by Orange Theory sells it as well.
Seems unfair if they just bust this guy but not the others.

As far as I am aware, the 2018 Farm Bill federally legalized CBD products derived from the hemp plant. Hemp is legally defined as cannabis sativa containing less than 0.3% delta-9 THC. CBD derived from marijuana plants is still illegal.

So let me get this straight. It's completely ok to have drive thru daiquiri shops where you are invited to not even get out of your car and drive thru to get loaded and drive and put us all at risk on the road, but it's not ok to purchase CBD products that is not a mood altering substance. But just because it is affiliated with marijuana plants, it's the devil.

It’s legal to purchase a daiquiri thru the drive thru
It’s not legal to drink said daiquiri or even put the straw thru the lid.

Reefer Madness is alive and well in 2019 baby! Especially when you have dinosaurs like Francis Thompson in leadership positions. Thompson is the chair of the Senate ag commitee, so any hemp legislation has to go through him first. He's already said he will not support a hemp bill that puts LA in line with the 2018 US Farm Bill. Texas isn't that stupid - they've already passed their own hemp bill through their house and it will likely fly through their senate. And Louisiana will fall behind the 8 ball yet again.
Here's the illustrious Senator Thompson in the 2015 LA MMJ debates. You'd think with positions like this he'd be a hardcore Republican, but he's actually a Democrat.
