Was in laff for work a couple weeks back and asked about downtown and the nightlife scene these days in general. I went to college at UL.
Was sad to learn that downtown has been taken over by culture and is now a pretty violent place with shootings fairly regularly. It is ashamed the local government let that happen. It was a crazy fun party place between there and the strip in the early 2000s.

I live downtown and can say that you were given some bad info.
But more to the point, the Wurst is the worst.

No idea what this place is but that kind of talk sounds it is coming from someone hoping to collect on a fire insurance policy. Could they be trying piss someone off enough to do something or maybe setting up a excuse for their own future actions?

Here to eat my crow. If it stays open or reopens, I bet none of you would do the same.

I sold guns to democrats and republicans alike. Yea, those anti gun politicians sure liked guns for themselves.

I know a bar owner down there and he said it is fine during the day and up to about 10pm. Then the scene changes and it can get really ugly downtown

Is this place out of business yet or what?

Bet none of us would do the same what?
Be so politically blind and oblivious that we own a business in the heart of oil and gas? An industry that the democrat party has made its mortal enemy?
That would be a safe bet, not many people are stupid enough to do what this guy did. This shite is basic common sense, come on man

I'm confused. I just went look at the IG page and they are advertising stuff. Are they closed or what?
ETA: I see now their FB page.

How many different ways can one say “go to hell?”

If its yelp or anything like yelp, you can pay to have the bad reviews taken off the site.
I was really surprised how well these companies can scrub stuff from search engines.

I’d imagine that number to be a bit higher in Lafayette

That’s spot on, during the day/evening and downtown is a blast. We try to get out of there around 10-11pm when it gets full of trash. Most of which don’t even spend any money downtown, just loiter on Jefferson St all night long.

They're showing it right now to be leased out. The advertisement says to not speak to their employees.
