Hard for a total keyboard warrior to reconcile that based on lower pacing they had one person doing ground and air

But the ground emergency was a result of being so gummed up that they couldn’t get a gate for the plane to return to?

Seems like that would take a lot of empty planes sitting

Was the fire truck there for that particular jet?

No.

The fire truck was crossing the runway to assist in an incident where a completely different aircraft was reporting toxic fumes in the cabin.

The fire truck was cleared to cross the runway while the accident aircraft was on short final.

The plane was coming in hot on the video.

Like I said....the 20mph was most likely one of the last recorded speeds POST IMPACT as it was slowing down.....not before

I would venture without some substantial issue (ie impaired, etc…) likely no.

I’m sure the civil suits will be quite large

That would destroy the ATC industry if they tried.

After hearing part of the radio call, dei investigation may be needed.

This would turn a tragedy into an outrage.

It would turn a tragedy into a coverup, rather. Like the helicopter crash at Reagan, with the former woman Biden aide.

The news has started to get ahold of the tapes, and are already playing them for every keyboard warrior, self-endorsed expert, Google-educated lament citizen, and Flight Sim nerd.

I'm sure Captain Steeeeeeve has already figured it out and spewing his typical course of disinformation to those stupid enough to listen to him.

Unless he was drunk or high… this was a tragic mistake.

Listening to the ATC playback, the call to ask permission to cross and then the crossing was within just a couple of seconds. The tower then does tell him to stop.

Im ignorant on protocol and I'm sure everything happening fast is fairly normal, but holy frick if the Fire Truck would have asked even 10 seconds and preferably 20 seconds ahead of time, waited to cross, and then crossed with permission again this would have never happened.

When you see the video, the Fire truck really doesn't even yield, barely slows down.

Now I know they were on their way to a call and in a hurry, but this is like going to a fire through a bunch of lights. You gotta take your time to some degree.

I'm not placing blame on the fire truck, just pointing out if this is normal protocol you really are asking for trouble with less than 5 seconds between asking permission to cross, crossing, and then getting hit.

this probably factored in, AARF has to be able to respond to the mid point of the farthest runway from their station and begin agent application within 3 minutes(first vehicle)

Didn't slow down because of the angle that the plane was coming.
