I save a % of each paycheck, but the real padding is from the lump sums I get. My annual Christmas bonus, my lovely parents’ Christmas gift of $2k every year, etc. This stimulus thing will go directly into it.

I wish there were more like this.

I understand there are people hurting right now and the owner of the business I manage gave me the green light 10 days ago to shut it down and come home if I felt I needed to be with my family during this time.

My guys need to work and as long as we can we will. I talked to my guys last Friday on payday because they had 30+ hours of OT and not to piss it away because we don't know what's going to happen.

I just understand we live in a society that doesn't plan for tomorrow, live for now.

Maybe this will reset that attitude and people will have a months savings.

Not sure how that's going to turn out.

well landlords across the country will now be legally free to get out from under rent control.

the result is all across america, somebodies granny will be told they can stay, but her frozen rent scale of $800 a month is now going up to $1200 a month or get out since she broke the lease by not paying

It’s also like $200. So it ain’t gonna pay the rent in addition to bills and food.

That means they had a low paying job if they only get $200 a month

Chase is allowing 3mo delay in payments. So yea I won’t be paying because I don’t think one of my tenants will be able to pay right away.

rent control

I don't think any Tuscaloosa apartment has this.
I thought rent control rates were in cities like NYC.
But, I can certainly see what you predict to happen to happen

$247 is the maximum. Some of you people really live under a rock.

Edit - Its weekly but with bills and the need to buy food, that still may not cover someone’s rent.

In Nola all you have to do is dial 311 to report and LaToya will send a note to your landlord stating you can’t evict them.

You still gonna owe what you don’t pay on your mortgage. Likely back interest to boot.

Our tenant is skipping this month and has offered to pay an extra 100 monthly over the next year. She’s be excellent to us over the years, will probably do what another poster did and just let it be a free month.

Sure, but lenders are working with mortgagees to come up with different options.

I'm just saying, in louisiana at least, no body is getting put on the street at this time.

Not my bank.

Just payments to the back side no interest or penalties.

90 day deferment if needed.

Doubt it. People will never trade instant gratification for long term stability.
