$247 is the maximum. Some of you people really live under a rock.

Edit - Its weekly but with bills and the need to buy food, that still may not cover someone’s rent.

That’s plenty for a person with no kids unless you want to keep up a privileged lifestyle

Buy a big arse bag of frozen chicken breast and some bread, throw in some ramen noodles and Walmart pasta.

That shite will last a long time

Not my bank.

Just payments to the back side no interest or penalties.

90 day deferment if needed.

I remember I had a student loan during Hurricane Katrina. At no request from me, they automatically suspended my automatic payment after the storm, yet kept accruing interest on the balance unpaid. It didn’t exactly result in a penalty (and I was able to rectify it soon after I realized the favor they were doing me), but it actually resulted in me paying a bit more interest in the long run than I would have done otherwise.

There is a 600 per week Federal stimulus added to that plus the 1200 stimulus.
So far, no one has seen that $600 or $1200. Louisiana is already paying their unemployment up to $247 before 10% tax but hasn’t paid anyone the federal $600 yet.

Not paying this month, or any month. Bank doesn't own my house.

And nobody will get any of that for a few more weeks.

Rent
Phone
Internet
Maybe car payment

With rent relief for many you can survive off that

You can feed yourself for a month for less than $150

The longest anyone has been out of work is 2 weeks. No reason why anyone should not be able to pay April rent. June/July if everything is still shut down, then yes.

Spending is out of control in this country.

Not sure how that's going to turn out.

uhhh it'll work out fine Louisiana has closed all eviction courts and people do not have to pay rent this month and CANNOT get a late fee. Heard it on the radio

People need to rethink what is essential to survive tho

Society has gotten to soft when people get all picky about what kind of food they eat during times like this.

Unless you have some crazy bills and or debt

A single person can get by on that especially if their not paying rent this month.

Yep people don’t know how to live with in their means and then when times get tough they complain about not being able to survive

$900 is plenty to pay rent and bills and groceries? Is this a joke?

You realize a lot of people’s rent alone is more than $900 right?

well that's a big "if"

even if they're not paying rent, the average car payment and insurance premium will eat up about half of that

i dont disagree with you at all about saving and being frugal but 1k a month isn't going to do much for very long

Yep
I’m also gainfully employed and we aren’t suffering. As I mentioned, grateful.

You are changing the topic of the thread. It’s about paying rent. You’re saying unemployment should be enough to pay rent (you replied to a comment about paying rent). Now you’re tasking about not paying it.

But that was never part of what the back and forth was about.
