The only part of that which may be true is that she was sitting on her couch.
No one is watching a late-night show with their adolescent child. Even less likely is that anyone is watching a late-night show just for "the nice show the music usually books". And no one was in tears.

The kids call it Hard Core. My son played guitar in a hard core band. The music is usually pretty good but the singing is crap. I have been to more than my share of hard core shows and the thing that amazes me is the kids know the words to the songs. Most times I’m lucky to catch 2 words per song.

But this isn't worse than anything hardcore/emo/nu-metal that was done in throughout the 90s and 00s

I love music and I was into Sabbath, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, BOA, Grand Funk, Zeppelin, etc., when I was a kid, that era still puts all subsequent attempts at heavy metal, or however you want to spin it, to shame, by a lot

It was crap then, and crap now, but it has existed for years.
Never was a fan of the unintelligible metal.
Give me Sabaton, Brothers of Metal, Beast in Black, Wind Rose, Frozen Crown, Unleash the Archers, etc.

Sabbath, yes, but the rest I would call rock, maybe even hard rock, but not Metal.
There is a difference, although others may disagree.

I get what you're saying but that was sort of the Genesis of it, John Lennon claims to have started it by using feedback on I Feel Fine, Dave Davies claims he started it with You Really Got Me, most people give John Kay credit with coining the term in Born To Be Wild, some great music from those days

How utterly fascinating that I can't decide what's less significant to me: the plummeting viewership of the Jimmy Kimmel Show or the fact that a handful of Facebook moms have decided to grace us with their oh-so-important opinions on it. I mean, really, if these digital denizens can stir up drama over vanilla ice cream, then basing an entire news story on their musings is just the pinnacle of journalistic integrity.
