Nowadays I mostly carry one of two knives, sometimes both. One is a Kershaw 1365 clip knife that I just like the size and shape of. It is easy and quick to sharpen, and it isn't expensive. I also carry an old US mase Schrade 294 trapper with carbon blades. It belonged to my best friend who passed away in his early 20s.
I have expensive knives, but I just don't carry them anymore. If I lose or have to give up a $40 Kershaw it doesn't bother me at all.

Spyderco Endura with Emerson opener.
After carrying a Boker USB otf that shite the bed, I'm going to get a microtech otf at some point.

Gerber Armbar. Very handy little multi tool with a decent blade. Small and easy to carry. About half the size of a Leatherman multi tool

Kershaw 1660 is my EDC. I like the blade lock in case my kids grab it off the counter. Sharpens easy and has pretty good action.

Sitting around in my shorts, so not carrying at this minute. I do have a variety, though.

Nothing fancy. I can't see dropping big change on a knife.
