Serious question for those you saying you have never heard of Kendrick Lamar, how old are you?

I’m an older millennial and it is hard for me to fathom anyone my age or younger having never heard of him. He’s been ubiquitous in pop culture for at least a decade.

Why do so many reply who?
He had one of the biggest songs of the summer. Ask your kids or Google.

Honest answer is I think most people have heard of him, but I doubt many people have any of his work in their Spotify playlist. He’s know as an inner city poet laureate, not a catchy hitmaker. I don’t know how they’ll make it work unless Drake is their hook.

For those that have really never heard of Lamar, just imagine they announced Beyoncé for half time, and then stated she would only perform the music she made in the past ten years. It’s a giant name with a niche audience.

I’ve heard the name but couldn’t tell you a song of his

I’m sure I’ve heard some of them though

No way it's just him, it'll be 59 other "rappers" nobody has heard of too

Kendrick isn't exactly unknown. Neither are the dudes most likely to perform with him as of late. Future, Metro Boomin', maybe The Weeknd.

I don’t see Drake showing up just for Kendrick to call him a pedo in front of millions.

The posters pretending not to know who some famous star is are the ones who follow every move of some 18 year old offensive lineman.

Cyclical. In the 90’s it was Biggie vs Tupac , now it’s Lamar vs Drake.

I like rap music sometimes, but can't they switch it up to a different genre every once in a while?

There was a weird period of time from about 2005 to 2015 when FM radio still mattered, but to chart a single you had to randomly insert some rapper into the middle of it. So you got really incongruous crap like that Katy Perry song where Kanye swoops in and starts jawboning about banging an alien with Mr. Spock or whatever... not on the actual album, BTW.

Things have only gotten worse since then, so I guess the answer to your question is "no." You will listen to zee Gas Station Americans and you will like it!

Only one I know is Swimming Pools which is actually a good song if you listen to the lyrics.

Didn't he just do it a couple years ago? I know who he is but couldn't name any of his songs. I know he's arguing with the other rap guy that was on High School Musical or something like that.

Imagine hosting a Super Bowl in a city with a famous musical history and they bring in a rapper from California. I don't even care if it's rap, but wish they'd use someone that at least had ties to the city.
