They have this neuroscience expert on the stand. No one is debating whether or not he had a head injury. He’s describing a traumatic brain injury. They don’t need the pathophysiology lesson of a subarachnoid hemorrhage/ subdural. I think this will be a problem for the CW on cross.

all 18 jurors are still present.

I think the purpose of this doctor to show that John didn’t die immediately after he received the head injury. The CW is trying to show Karen could have saved his life if she did hit him with her car to go more towards she intended for him to die.
Hank Brennan is dumb if he actually believes Karen did this.

Am I correct to assume that the 2nd degree murder charge kind of hinges on this?

From my understanding 2nd degree is intent to kill someone. They have to show that she knowingly and purposely reversed the Lexus intending to hit and kill John. So it would be possible she did reverse the vehicle but not intend to kill John.

meanwhile, Jen McCabe had looked out the window twice in 15 minutes and heard nothing and saw nothing. Heard no engine revving or tires skidding in the snow and did not hear a car hitting a human body or a person yell having been smashed by a car. Also did not notice a body lying in the light snow when she looked out the second time in 15 minutes and the car was gone.

Who is this witness? She is kind of cute.

Was thinking the same. Take her hair down and drop the nerdy glasses and she'd be like Laney Boggs

It looks like the state has rested their case in chief!
The judge just ended court for today and no court tomorrow.

Maybe I misunderstood the ending b/c the audio still blows, but didn't she say it would be a half day tomorrow?

They were supposed to have a half day tomorrow but she gave them the day off.

The defense has said they expect their case to take a week and a half. So if the state is indeed resting their case, lets say the defense will take 2 weeks then the state will probably have a rebuttal case. Lets say a week for the rebuttal case and this case may be in the jury's hands by the middle of June.

On another note, what is the board's take on the pieces/shards of glass found at the scene that don't match. Did glass just magically appear because the glass from the scene did not match the (alleged) piece of glass from the bumper.

Was that not from the cocktail glass that he allegedly had in his hand ? I can’t keep up with all the random evidence that they pick and choose what to acknowledge.

She stated that she looked out at least 3 times, likely more.

Don’t they still have to call the witness back from yesterday?
