I heard some discussion on the verdict form. Saw a picture but couldn't read it. Sounds like the 2nd page is confusing. Wasn't that an issue brought up by a juror in the first trial?
Allegedly in the first trial, all the jurors agreed that she was not guilty of second degree murder, but didn't know they could come back hung on some charges and not guilty on others. The judge didn't poll the jury.

Minor aside, but the defendant should have the final closing argument.

ETA: I just heard that Massachusetts law allows the judge to select the foreman. Strange.
Wow. Didn’t know that was a thing. Seems very odd. How many States/Counties in the US do that?
Agree with the other poster, this could have a big influence on the jury.

So sending the jury home for the weekend. Anyone think that is a good or bad thing?
When a jury is told to not read about it or talk about the trial do they just trust they will do that? I would be tempted to see what people looking at it from the outside thinks.. Or if there is anything else that should be considered, etc (which I know I have to trust that everything I needed to make a decision was presented to me).
But at the same time there might be members of the jury who are told something by families members that might not even be true that ends up factoring into their decision..
It’s the same as any other weekend they’ve had during this trial…

Seems like there is some circumstantial evidence pointing towards that play fight at the bar actually being nefarious.
I think she’s not guilty but the play fight stuff had zero influence on that opinion. I think that’s the weakest piece of evidence that the defense used in their closing and doesn’t prove anything.

Yes, it is. I think this is the 2nd page. The first is the 2nd degree murder charge, I believe.

I was a foreman on a pretty prominent case involving a law firm. I followed the judges orders without a second thought. We did have on lady over the weekend who did lookup the law around the sentencing, which wasn’t allowed back then, but she ended up staying.
There’s only so much you can do, but when you are on the jury, you feel a true responsibility for civic duty and not listening to others or looking stuff up comes into that

Ole Bev doesn’t want a partial verdict. All or nothing.

After watching a good chunk of the trial I think Not Guilty.
I also now think that most New Englanders are annoying assholes.

I'll allow it.

That would be a Masshole. Yes, they are.

I think if they come back somewhat quickly, Monday or Tuesday, it will be Not Guilty. However, my bet is a hung jury again.
Despite what we all got to see for a 2nd time, someone will hold out and thing “justice should be served” and vote based on that, despite the clear instruction of “beyond a reasonable doubt”
I’m hopeful they find her not guilty, as the CW never proved all 5 elements beyond a reasonable doubt IMO.
Either way, can’t imagine they try her again with a hung jury…just the huge burden over her head if they don’t will impact her the rest of her life and JOKs family as well.

Random aside: Is KR on any bond conditions? Or can she just get blitzed out of her mind this weekend with no recourse?
Posted on 6/13/25 at 6:11 pm to IT_Dawg
I can’t imagine that she will be found guilty

The CW knows they can't get a guilty verdict. Their only hope is to get another hung jury and draw this out until Karen can't keep these lawyers and try to win that way against lesser attorneys on a third trial.

At what point does it become malicious prosecution?
How many bites at the apple do they get?
If you fail twice to get a verdict, perhaps you have a shitty case and need to drop it, no?

I agree, but seeing the way the Prosecution and Judge have acted the 2 trials, I sadly don't believe thats the case.

"can she just get blitzed out of her mind this weekend with no recourse?"
This approach didn't work out very well last time she did that.
