If I was the boss I'd have just laughed and moved on personally. Unless he just slammed the shite out of my face, but just easing a pie in it and not slamming be back into a wall is no big deal.

I’m so immature. I find people getting hit in the face with a pie to be Tier 1 comedy.

But it was shepherds pie and he did it while taking a shite on his desk.

Bad choice by coworker, and probably a fireable offense, but goddamn your boss is a pussy for calling the cops.

It certainly can be, not sure it was meant to be herein.

The coworker should have started swinging on the boss after the cops were called. What a pathetic move

An outlandish and unlikely scenario is described by a poster who has only been on TD for one month.

You should have just said the guy was fired.

We did this to a boss of mine about 25 years ago. He found out the ones involved, and one by one enacted his revenge. He ended each revenge scenario with a pie in each of our faces. He even shrink wrapped some of us to posts and let numerous associates throw pies at us. That was a pretty fun work environment, and that was the way things were dealt with back then.

You can totally tell who grew up sheltered and weak vs those who grew up around alphas just by comments like this.

So many beta boys out there. Plenty of alphas though thank God

Ehh, the industry I work in, when you put your 2 week notice in, they segregate you into a conference room, do an inventory of your belongings with you, and have the police escort you from the building in just about every instance.

If you're retiring then that's obviously not the case, and there have been a few other exceptions made, but for the most part the worry about espionage and divulging trade secrets is so great that they find it necessary, regardless of how humiliating it is.

Now when most people quit, they empty their belongings from the workplace over a few days, quit on a Friday and are never heard from again, at least at the workplace.

The first time i witnessed it, I cracked a joke saying "wow, they take keeping the receipts from your expense account serious around here, huh ?" and immediately thought I was going to be fired on the spot.

Imagine trying to explain to your new prospective employer why you lost your last job.

Police aren’t coming to escort someone off premises just because they turned in a resignation. No crime was committed. I think you mean your company’s private security company/guard will escort them out.
