How can anybody in a frat pass a class if they aren't there? I assume they're going salt water fishing everyday of the week based on outfit.

Joined other clubs that didn't cost an arm and a leg, made just as many friends. Hell, some of those were even frat boys, and I didn't have to sacrifice an arm to be their friend.

Also, why would a self-respecting man need to seek out a frat? Half of those jackasses definitely didn't respect themselves.

KA, got way more pussy than I would have as a GDI so just that part was worth it.

Rent-a-Friend or Buy-a-Buddy.

I was also in the legion of honor. All of my frat bros are very successful and we still all hang out and do business together where we can.

Why did you join the other clubs? Was it to be around like minded people? Hmmmm, sounds a lot like what a fraternity does. Cost is purely based off of what you get out of it. Only a small portion is "dues" to the organization. The rest is meal plan, social fees, and housing (for some). It was significantly cheaper for me to live in the house. I think I paid $2400 a semester for a room, utilities, and 3 meals a day. Also, pretty much had a party every week. Some very large with bands, etc.. I paid more to live when I moved out of the house easily. My rent alone was probably more.

See answer above. The stories of hazing to the point of demeaning someone do happen on rare occasion when you have an a-hole who is drunk or something. But they are usually called out and chastised (at least in the organization I was in). Otherwise it's pretty much the same bullshite you probably experienced on any sports team as a freshman or something. Albeit a bit more organized. You got screwed with a little, but you took it in a good way that kind of made you feel part of the group. It's dumb, but at the same time, probably happens any time you stick a group of young guys together in a similar situation.

I always feel like the anti-frat crowd is way more passionate than the pro-frat crowd.

Had a coworker say something similar to our boss... our boss was the president of his fraternity. Needless to say my coworker didn't get the promotion he was supposed to get.
