Hard to beat a real cuban Cohiba. Must admit though that I have had a Zino platinum stretch that was damn good and every bit as good, if not better than, the Cuban.

many people in the U.S. Do you know that receive free health care, free education through college including books, rent and food, free housing, one year paid maternity leave? Again, I am not ignorant.

So you think free stuff is worth tyranny oppression and control and then say you're not ignorant?

Umm, there are millions in the US who get this, except maternity leave is perpetual. Please visit any urban area and ask around.

Netflix gives employees a full year of paid maternity leave. Other Silicon Valley companies have good but not quite as generous maternity benefits.

So basically you visited the façade they put on to make it look like Cuba is such a great place where the people are happy, and not the rest of Cuba where people suffer

Same can be said for basically all carribean countries. Except for Haiti where they are too inept to put up facade.

I do t really care about the government being communist. Wouldn't let that get in the way of my enjoyment of a city as beautiful as Havana. That communist government takes better care of its people better than our government ever will.

Eat a bag of dicks. Repression, murder and imprisonment is what Castro gave the world. Nothing else.He created a brutal totalitarian shithole. He starved people, tortured them, summarily executed thousands and amassed a one billion dollar personal fortune on the blood of innocent Cubans. I wish it were possible for you to suffer under Communism, as Mrs Pimp and her family did, to see The State seize your property, kill your friends and family, and impoverish you overnight. You are a fricking colossal moral idiot.

That said, I'm sure the Cuban people were awesome and you had fun. Hopefully after the name Castro takes it's rightful place next to Ceausescu and other Communist shitbags, you will be embarrassed enough to apologize for being such an ignorant puffed-up little fart, and Cubans can enjoy the basic freedoms you take for granted. a-hole.

Did I stumble onto the poli board? What a bunch of sanctimonious pricks.

I thought this thread was going to be about a Cuban vacation. Thanks for posting pics whoever did that. I'm starting to plan for competing in a sailboat race from Pensacola to Havana....... Can't wait.

The sanctimonious prick is the OP. And every other privileged Western tourista who goes to Cuba ignorant of what Communism in Cuba actually meant and returns spouting some worn out Marxist tripe.

I got no problem with anybody who goes to Cuba. I got no problem with anybody who enjoys the culture. I got no problem with anybody who like the Cuban people. I have a huge problem with somebody who thinks that because they discovered Cuba last week, that Castro is not a Totalitarian murderer who enslaved his people. That's not the kind of thing we gloss over, and mix with a few cliched anti-American platitudes, just because we got on a plane and flew to Havana.

Moral idiots everywhere. As far as the eye can see.

Tell the OP in the Che tee shirt to not be a spoiled moron about it and shite on the US. It would be one thing if Cuba was truly liberalized, since the culture is so interesting. But the frickers currently running the show had nukes pointed at the US at one point.

Castro flew a torture team to Vietnam. They visited various POW camps and tortured and murdered AMERICAN POW's. The POW's prayed their interrogator was Vietnamese because the Cubano usually meant death. Not the kind of thing a pampered American tourista ponders while basking in the "poverty chic" that is fashionable among the cocktail party Marxist set.

quote:

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. -- Retired Air Force Col. Ed Hubbard says he holds no hate for "Fidel, the Cuban government agent who viciously tortured him and 17 other US prisoners of war in North Vietnam three decades ago.

Almost daily for one year, the man the POWs nicknamed Fidel whipped them with strips cut from rubber tires until their buttocks "hung in shreds, and trussed them in ropes and wires to tear at limbs and cut into flesh. Fidel was one of three Cubans sent to North Vietnam by Havana to deal with American POWs, in what became known as the Cuba Program.

He whipped and kicked one POW so fiercely in 1968 that the American went into a catatonic state and later died, in what a new book on US POWs in Vietnam calls "one of the most heinous and tragic atrocity cases.

Hubbard himself was beaten so brutally by "Fidel" during one 1967 interrogation session that fellow POW Jack Bomar recalled finding him afterward unconscious on a cell floor, "a bleeding, broken, bruised mass.
