I do t really care about the government being communist. Wouldn't let that get in the way of my enjoyment of a city as beautiful as Havana. That communist government takes better care of its people better than our government ever will.

Accno, we were actually allowed to go anywhere we wanted to in Cuba. I spent time with my sister, and her son who have lived in Cuba all of their lives. I did get to see the good and the bad and what I saw that was bad wasn't really the worse I have seen in some places in the U.S.

Havoc, I am not ignorant. You may be. How many people in the U.S. Do you know that receive free health care, free education through college including books, rent and food, free housing, one year paid maternity leave? Again, I am not ignorant.

Lou, there certainly were a few Cubans I spoke to who wanted to know about the "American Dream". They think it really exists and that everything will be wonderful once they are in the U.S. The American Dream is the U.S.'s facade.

It looks beautiful..i can't wait to book my trip. I've been to the Dominican and caribbian islands as well as Central America but I can't wait to go to CUBA!

I'm sure you were the annoying American hipster abroad shitting on America.
The concept of the American Dream may not mean anything to you but it meant a lot to my ancestors who were able to rise out of poverty or flee religious persecution. But I'm sure living under a regime guilty of countless human rights violations throughout its history and considered one of the most censored countries in the world is just fantastic because they get maternal leave (but not anything resembling due process of course).
