I laugh so hard at the Chappelle speech on this until the realization sets in. Had there been two random white guys walking around that night, their lives would have been destroyed.

And then I get pissed. This a-hole needs to go away for a long time.

Charles Barkley destroys Jussie

This was hilarious.

This was one of, if not the, funniest stories to come out in recent years.

NOTHING about his story made any sense.

The only thing that pisses me off is, like it's been pointed out, if there had actually been 2 white guys out and about in that area, their lives would have been destroyed by the democrats and their puppets in the media.

Jussie Smollett was born into a wealthy family in the entertainment industry. I am sure that you'd pick up on that in just a casual conversation with him (which is the same for a lot of people who have never actually done a hard days work). Probably why no one in the working or middle class actually believed he was genuine.

The other privileged, out of touch douchebags rushed to voice their sympathy for him are the same types that are always trying to "prove" that they can understand normal people. It's driven by the same urge as a lot of these privileged white kids who try to over compensate for their closeted racism by feigning "wokeness".

But what makes this story even worse for Smollett is that he's a professional actor whose performance in this whole ordeal fooled almost nobody outside of Hollywood. Perhaps they are just more willing to suspend disbelief for tales involving a white republican being a villain.

Yeah, they just wanted to believe him after they've been told nonstop that Trump and his supporters are the biggest threats to the country.

The Chappelle skit on this situation covered that one.

He apparently claimed that two white people identified him as “that nagger f aggot from Empire”, while Chappelle noted that white people wouldn’t know him and that this sounds like something Chappelle himself would have said.

You mean the whole theme of Trump supporters with MAGA hats wondering the Chicago streets in the middle of the night in single digit temperatures with rope and bleach didn't tip you off?

That is actually less of a tip off to me than someone allegedly thinking Chicago is MAGA country

And how demented does one have to be to do something like this. The guy wanted to be a victim so bad he made himself one.

Racism demand < racism supply

There was significant chatter at the time that he was going to be written out of the show, I think. This was his way to stay in.

I heard he was undergoing salary negotiations and he thought it would strengthen his hand.

Instead it got him written out and got the show killed the next season.

IIRC, the wind chill was below zero over night all week, then getting extremely cold a few days after the alleged attack. There was a major arctic blast around that time. On the 29th and 30th, Chicago hit a record -22 degrees with a wind chill around -50. It was so bad that I caught a flight to DC to avoid the weather in Chicago that weekend.

Ice was developing on the inside of my apartment windows that week, which had never happened before.

I'm not overstating this. My eyes watered on the elevated platform when waiting for the train. The droplets would freeze on the tiny part of the skin around my eyes that was exposed. It was the coldest I've ever been.

Kamala Harris put him up to it. It was right before the vote for the anti-lynching bill

Jussie was just the linchpin head in a larger conspiracy to start a conversation.
