I keep running into mausoleums in the black veil though.

I think it's a great place to run away from the traffic.
What an interesting paradox : running in the cemetery will keep you out of the cemetery.

If they have a website, check to see if they have restrictions. Cave Hill Cemetary here specifically restricts it and they're one that hosts tours because of the popularity of some of the deceased there (George Rogers Clark, Colonel Sanders, etc).
Personally I don't see an issue with it as long as you're respectful but it may be restricted. If a cemetery is holding tours and making money off it, then I don't see where jogging through it is disrespectful.

Well, it's not like the dead give a shite either way.

It's ok a long as you don't feed them after midnight, and also don't get them wet.

I would actually think me caring enough to ask would make me the exact opposite.

We need pics of your wife to determine whether it is disrespectful.

Depends on the cemetery. A lot of the ones in NOLA are great for a run through. As people have said, just be respectful and stay out of the way.

I see no problem.
We have serious issues as the living, thinking we won't eventually be dead.

Metairie Cemetery?
I'd take my bike out there every now and then. It's really cool to see the old stuff.
I'd like to think some of those who have been departed for a while would appreciate someone stopping at their tomb long after their family stopped visiting.

If Yankee soldiers bivouacked there and carved graffiti in the headstones during the civil war a little jog shouldn't affect the overall effect of the situation.

Not while they're planting someone...
AOK otherwise.

Well I do this. I don't see a problem with a jog though. I visit family and an old lady not far down brings a chair, a book and a sandwich and sits by her dead husband. She windexes his headstone too.

I used to jog in a cemetery b/c I lived in a rough neighborhood at the time. I knew the denizens wouldn't come after me in a graveyard.

When I was in the Army National Guard we used to do PT and do our PT test in a cemetery across from the unit.
