More and more attorneys are moving into personal injury ... and it ain’t cause they want to “protect” you from the big bad insurance companies denying you what is rightfully yours and your soft tissue injury that your chiropractor diagnosed.

Our state has so many personal injury lawyers chasing accidents for the easy guaranteed payouts from insurance.
Our state has so many fraudulent dishonest people making fraudulent injury lawsuits.
Our state has so many terrible drivers
Etc.
Etc.

Picayuner, you sound like the kind of moron who bases his arguments on nothing but emotions and feelings. You don’t rely on the facts of the matter. You disproved your own argument with your post.

Do you honestly think insurance companies should be forced by the government to operate at a loss in Louisiana? They already have to pay out more than they receive in Louisiana. Do you you think this is a planned economy like in the old USSR?

People like you are the reason our country is moving towards more and more socialist/communist policies. The ignorant morons don’t know any better.

Louisiana's ambulance chasers have done far more damage to the insurance industry.

NOT the people.

The people are the ones that start these lawsuits, don't carry insurance, or a ton of other issues. My parents live in an upper middle class neighborhood, and less than 20% of their neighbors had insurance. During the last storm. That's insanity.

I didn’t watch the interview but based on your post, it sounds like he’s saying Louisianians underpay for flood insurance, which is true.

you know absolutely nothing as to how insurance carriers operate. We already have a shortage of carriers who elect to underwrite risk in Louisiana. Ton of companies refuse to do so. This is what drives our premiums up.

It would seem there is some type of correlation between our excessive amount of attorney billboards and high insurance premiums.

That is horse shite, you know damn well no insurance company works at a loss.
they would shut the doors in a second.
The insurance - personal injury business is like a cess pool of festering bacteria. And they love it that way.
And dumb cultcha thinks it is great.
Fix the shite don't make excuses for it.
Tort reform and no fault are the answer plain and simple.

Wrong. Just because the company as a whole is not operating at a loss does not mean that they don’t risk operating at a loss in Louisiana. They have to keep premiums quite high to avoid that. I don’t think you quite understood my post.

If we go ahead and keep pushing socialist policies and try to force them to keep prices low, they’ll just pack up and leave.

I do definitely agree with you hat tort reform and no fault are the answers. It’s long overdue.

I'm really glad you aren't a decision maker for insurance in La, because you have no idea what you're talking about. Is the system in need of reform? Yes. But not the way you're beating your chest about it.

If you had your way we'd all be at the mercy of Citizens. No thanks.

So, are you saying that the government should mandate that a company must operate at a loss in order to continue to be licensed?

How long would your company stay in business if that were the case?

Are you also supporting the idea that citizens in other states should supplement Louisiana’s poor choices? In the same way, should Louisiana citizens have to pay for damages caused to California by earthquakes?

The risk is minimal as long as them and attorneys pay off corrupt officials. Just bending us over and giving it to us dry.

Actually I’m a small government proponent. IF we are paying donelan to regulate the insurance companies then regulate them or shut the whole office down and save millions of taxpayers dollars. My problem is he’s getting money from both sides and laughing all the way to the bank. I PAY my way so don’t go on tv and tell me I don’t pay enough. Get it somewhere else !

Insurance companies have to prove they are solvent or cannot provide insurance due to law. If insurance companies worked at a loss and continued to write policies they would be committing fraud.
