Our insurance commissioner got in tv and admonished all Louisianians for not paying their fair share. He insulted us for taking in more than we pay out. He failed to mention the hard working people who are killed and maimed to provide 30% of the nations energy needs for decades. He fails to mention the price to refine that energy. He failed to mention that his previous four insurance commissioners wound up in prison for corruption. He failed to mention what HE receives from insurance lobbyists and from the Louisiana tax payers. If I were commissioner I’d tell all insurance companies to make our premiums less than the national average or get the hell out of Louisiana Why do our drivers pay four times the amount for vehicle insurance than our fellow countrymen in Nevada or Delaware ? He was arrogant and can eat crap All he did was set us up for higher insurance after the storm. He was a propagandist for the insurance companies today. He’s is preparing us for another reaming. He can go straight to Hell

This is how that conversation goes:
LOUISIANA: Make our premiums less than the national average or get out
EVERY INSURANCE COMPANY: See y'all later. Good luck.

Do we want to talk about the relative differences in tort exposure between Louisiana and Nevada or Delaware?

Silver lining is law industry in Louisiana would evaporate. Driving down the interstate would be so much more enjoyable without all the signs.

Well, part of the reason our auto insurance is so high is because culcha doesn't like carrying insurance then they crash into people

Because, on average, the amount paid on bodily injury claims in Louisiana far exceeds four times the amount paid under similar claims in those states.

You ever notice that 9 out of 10 billboards are lawyers advertising to get you more money for your wreck? That has more to do with the high insurance rates in the state than anything, insurance companies can’t lower rates if the laws in our state continue like they are. Insurance is protecting your arse from the frivolous lawsuits, and it’s got to be high to cover all of them. Not to mention our states propensity for boozing and cruising, we are among the tops in the state for alcohol related accidents. Not to mention our states roadways and bridges are substandard. All of that factors into our insurance rates not just whatever the acting insurance commissioner says. Our state has kind of fricked itself in relation to insurance companies.

Why don't we go to no fault insurance? Then the problem would take care of itself when the non-insured couldn't afford their car repair.

All Louisiana politicians, with the exception of Mike Strain, are corrupt pieces of shite. It’s why the state lags behind the rest of the country in every meaningful way. They are more concerned with back room deals and the good old boy network that fills their pockets and those of their friends and family than improving the state. frick them all!

The biggest point of my rant is that on the eve of a storm he goes on tv in New Orleans and disses residents that pay a lot for insurance. He says we’re not paying enough. The hell with him This is a guy that gets his pay and benefits from the taxpayers and spits in our face.

Insurance rating was exposed this last session. It will continue to get exposed. Insurance companies are making more than ever.

He should attack the lawyers and the insurance companies NOT the people.
