IIRC when he was the at Harahan playground the wife of the mayor had some beef with him and there were law suits all around. Tim was innocent. Is this what you are referring to?

This is most likely what you're thinking of.

A lot of kids entered the transfer portal and went to Little Farms with him shortly after that battle

Alan Joseph was also at John Curtis for awhile in the 80s and 90s. I think he was more associated with Cleary than Girard. Pretty sure he's still Djing

I remember Alan Joseph.

Used to umpire games with him. Late 90s / early 2000s. Little guy, weird.

He Trained a lot of rec ball umpires that worked at JPRD, KRD, and Carrollton

And yeah I seem to remember him having e association with John Curtis… maybe the middle school teams?

Sonny is still around. I’ve seen him recently at Pontiff.

I remember whispers about Sonny when I played football at cleary and this was on the late 80s.

He was a nice guy and good coach for me with zero incidents. Alan was kind of an a-hole from what I recall.

I had coach Ken for basketball at cleary and he was awesome.

Unrelated but I love how JPRD operated compared to where we live now.

There are no neighborhood playgrounds here. Just leagues where half the frickong city plays with no neighborhood rivalries.

Cleary Rebels for life. Beating the shite out of weak arse teams at Bright and Metairie Playground gearing up for the battles with Girard and Miley.

This is both an age of consent situation and a superior/subordinate situation. If one person has some sort of authority over the other (coach, boss, LEO, etc) then there is an expectation that they don’t coerce the other person to do something regardless of their age.

Yeah but one is illegal and the other is not. That is what he is asking.

He is the night supervisor at Pontiff. If you ever played for him, he will remember you. Dude has a memory like a steel trap.

When my parents moved to Kenner, I initially played at Greenlawn. Rough crowd, tough neighborhood.

When I was 8 we moved to Chateau Estates, where I played for Holly Heights, which later became Bertolino. I was playing there during the transition between the 2 parks.

Much better neighborhood, but there were still a decent amount to fights/physical altercations. All part of establishing the pecking order. Wouldn't have had it any other way. Good times.
