My personal opinion is he is maintaining a strong stance because if he shows any weakness people in Louisiana will be piled up on bourbon street like morons. We are so close to the finish line he doesn't want to risk it.

He is making the media start wearing masks tomorrow
OK, but no one really sees the media at a press conference.
If he wants an impact, tell the anchors to wear them for the 10 pm news.
Also, hearing Harris County is going to require them to be worn in public in exchange for relaxing stuff.
But how TF are you going to wear a mask and eat dinner in a restaurant?

Serious question: What stance would NOLA cops take?? Some in other areas (states) have said they won't do much.

The solution seems simple. Keep NO and BR closed down till the middle of May. Start opening the rest of the state with phase 1 starting on Monday.

It’s not a bad theory. It would still be nice to have some clue as to what he sees as “the finish line”, though.

I think it's that area that LEO said they won't enforce it? And yeah ... wear a mask to order and take it off to eat. That makes ZERO sense.

If the "finish line" is the end of the stay at home order in this context, then it's pretty obvious that he is going to let it expire on the 30th if the current trends hold.

If anyone with a brain listens to just a single one of his press conferences, they will think he’s a middle school football coach that played too many downs back in the day without a helmet, and rides around on the short bus.

then it's pretty obvious

He said straight up we're 7 days towards meeting the phase 1 guidelines. 7 days from now is April 29th.

Why don’t people get that he DGAF about economic recovery as long as he has someone to pay his new package of Covid taxes and the O&G companies are around for his GumboPac buddies to sue. If he cared about the states’ economy he wouldn’t have sent tens of thousands of jobs to Texas WHILE HE WAS UP FOR RE-ELECTION!

Where is he getting his hair cut?

He needs to conduct these daily updates on live video from his home. You know...work from home like he expects the rest of us to continue doing.
