"How low do cases have to stay"

JBE working on triggers and what that looks like. (GOLFER SEND YOUR ROLLING GRAPHS) Waiting for CDC guidance. Under what circumstances should we go backwards. Depends on hospital capacity. May play out in certain regions. Anything we do will have to be informed by testing (muh testing)

Dr. Billoux: not much more to add. See cases go down. Zero cases is eventual goal which likely will not happen (speaking of zero cases) until vaccine is available (who the f is going to take that?? Not me). Upticks in cases presenting to hospital will be leading indicator.

JBE as we get to next flu season, people who present with flu will demand same resources as those with covid .. good news is mitigation is same. waht we don't want is both things happening at the same time unchecked.

Well, that is what everyone is pushing for unintentionally.

Question: grade for social distancing C now .. any concern with the grade dropping and Texas reopening?

JBE we wont make decisions on grades (then why the f do them) we'll use hospital/etc to infomr decision making. THey predict an upsurge the less disciplined we are. Indirectly affect decision making. Worse grade translates likely to worse cases. I 10/20 will stay open .. run risk of transmitting virus. part of society. We get it. But we believe we have ability to robustly test and follow up with contact tracing.

(Man this is on repeat)

Thanks again for doing it as most of us don't want to watch him speak.

Biggest takeaway is that we are halfway to phase 1. So we should be in phase 2 by May 15.

Little league baseball here we come!
Movie theaters will open.
Churches I think will wait until phase 3.

We're not in the future yet. Deaths is a lagging indicator but they're real people.

Do what we ask you to do. Continue to be patient, focused, resolute. We're resilient. Pray for those who have died and their families as well as first responders/health care people. they're real heroes being very selfless and be thankful for them.

The end. Done.

Hopefully he is just keeping his message strong so we can finish this strong at end of April as planned.

Good luck with that.

The minute the expected increase occurs post-reopening (yes, expected), JBE is going to overreact and shut everything down again.

I doubt it

it will be a lot more difficult to shut things down again once we begin reopening

and JBE knows that, which is probably why he is reluctant to reopen sooner

I don't think he will be able to. It would remove all chance of economic recovery anytime soon.

I think we partially open May 1 and people treat it like a full opening and never look back.

Should we make a bet on that?

Welcome. I think it's not good for my health as my blood begins to boil .. especially when he takes the tone that he takes. And my typos bother me but I can't type as fast as I want to ... and I don't watch. He pisses me off but I listen. I think I should rethink doing this

I guess if he feels like it?? I mean, at some point he's gotta realize that the coffers are in the negative and that state will need money, right??
