(I need a drink -- it's 5:00 somewhere I know.)

Public questions:

Theresa: what safety precautions are in place for immunocompromised people?

JBE: great question. Yes people may be asymptomatic. Makes it difficult. So everyone should wear a mask -- follow doc order if you know you're compromised. Take your meds -- eat well -- work remotely if you can. If you can't make sure your coworkers are doing the right things. Wash your hands more frequently. Stay home if you are sick.

Question: uptick due to decrease in SD over Easter weekend?

JBE: not following SD has an impact. B to D over Easter weekend. They look at your cell/GPS. I'm not sure whether we've seen an uptick yet associated with Easter weekend as it sometimes takes longer. I don't think we know yet.

Press question: about 14 day requirement .. how many under its belt?

JBE: approaching day 7. We are halfway through 14 days. Current trajectory looks promising. Cases plateaued .. has to continue

That’s crazy that he’s forcing small business owners to renounce Christ before they can reopen

NOT considering closing the convention center hospital. It's not fully staffed; we've made the investment. No conventions coming (well duh). Modeling from Johns Hopkins we do see possibility of uptick in future that woudl threaten the ability to deliver healthcare. (WTF)

Have not gone forward to Sheraton or Hyatt (WTF)

NOT renew contract for housing/hotels across from the convention center.

Region 3/9 could use region 1 if htey neede surge area.

100 in convention center.

Face masks ... everyone really needs to wear in public (yeah, I'm not signed tiger91).

JBE wears one in public and encouraging everyone else as well to do so. Media will be required to wear one to conference.

If the government wants us all to wear masks, they need to always be wearing them at every presser, have all media members do the news wearing them, etc.

If Trump wears a mask to his pressers, y'all will too.

"How do you get people to comply" is basic question for those who don't like it/feel necessary.

JBE: look to any message to cling to that "we're past it". No vaccine .. no treatment .. we have to preserve things in place today. SD, hygiene. We're gonna keep talking about it .. media needs to help. People should understand if cases spike we can't open. get back to numbers like we had a month ago and we can't open. We all have a role to play.

(He sounds pissed)

Had we not done stay at home, effect on economy would have been more adverse (really??? could it have been???)

"We can say plateaud" on new cases. We are #5 in nation now we were #3 for weeks. Yesterday we were #4.
This is good new but I still would pay good money to see this at one of his press conferences.

Manage expectations and adjust to this new normal.

Preserve balance between health/economy.

Question: oil is in free fall. Is there anything on horizon to help La oil companies?

JBE: rambling. Challenge oil is cheap -- pipelines storing oil, everything is being used to store oil. Demand will tap into what is stored before production starts again. Looking at what we can do. Calling on Fed government to help .. 50% decline nationwide for auto fuel. Task force has a component for energy. I am goint to authorize collection of severance tax. We don't have the option to run a deficit ( )

So, UE would be in the 30s or 40s?

We would already be in a depression?

Let me translate:

“What we did to the economy is nothing compared to what would have happened. Trust us. Believe us!”
