Have you been asleep? You had your chance with the phases and you blew it.

black lives matter, defund the police, no gatherings of 5 or more unless its a protest.

It's not in "sight" no. I'm willing to bet he's closer to dropping back to phase 1 that he is to going to 3.
Remember, this is all about mail in voting. The longer the lockdown, the closer we get to the ultimate Dem goal.

Probably will day no phase 3 until a vaccine is available.

Louisiana is doing great on all cdc metrics
Hospitalizations arent ballooning, deaths aren't increasing at a large rate, positive rate is below the CDC goal of 10%
He will have to pull something out of his arse as reasoning not to push forward

Remaining in phase 2, keep wearing masks and practicing social distancing. Football season will happen but it might not look the same

This right here.
I'm not sure how he can pull it off given the trend of the numbers that we have seen (and the admittance on Friday that there had been duplicate positives in the numbers since day 1) BUT if anyone would try it would be him....so like many in this thread I'm not optimistic.

“Flattening the curve isn’t something you do once and forget about it,” Edwards added. “We still have the disease. It’s still contagious. It is still deadly. We can easily see the gains we’ve made evaporate.”
He's going to extend "phase 2" at least past the 4th of July. Last week's press conference started to lay the groundwork for that. We can't have all these people going out and recklessly celebrating Independence Day. Do you want us to have to start all over again and start flooding your Facebook page with "flatten the curve" memes again?!!! I didn't think so!!!
Unless you are having a protest, no cookouts, pool parties, boat parades, etc. DO YOU PART!!

The only major difference in Phase 2 & 3 per the WH guidelines is nursing homes reopen
That’s not going to happen until CMS (federal agency over Medicare & Medicaid) approves it, then it will be up to each state then each facility
There has been rumors that they will not let nursing homes open to visitors until next year sometime
ETA
I agree with OP, he laid groundwork with press conference last week along with LDH getting dramatic with their tweets
It’s complete BS & I hope businesses continue to do as they please

What is best for the state and country is to go to phase 3.
He is a Democrat - so no.

What about letting bars and restaurants open fully so they can actually make a real profit?
And allowing for concerts and festivals down here by the fall is kind of important for our economy.
