Expressed preliminary support for Cleo’s request to shut down high school sports, but said it’s too early to make that decision.
Expressed ‘hope‘ that schools could reopen fully but also pointed out that ‘we don’t know what things will look like in a month’.
Expressed concern over bars and gathering being hot spots for spread. Said they will look at the data further. Said that if numbers continue in the wrong direction, they’ll have to consider restrictions, but hopes he doesn’t have to do that.
Proudly reported that infection numbers are trending further toward white males, and that young people were testing positive at a high rate. Spent a lot of time on race today. Don’t really understand why this is so important, but he and Billioux spent a lot of time on it.
Draw your own conclusions. My prediction was that he’d threaten further restrictions and probably announce some on Friday, but that’s based on the old MWF schedule. He did, however, make threats as expected. Now he’s saying next presser will be next week sometime. We’ll see.

I feel like she wants to tell us what to do over here in Florida. AnD yes is punishing the people in her constituency for what she sees other people doing.
That fricking count literally held a press conference at the same exact time JBE held his today and now WWL Radio is about to rep play jets. I hate her

I'll give JBE this....he certainly tries to keep his distance from the national Democratic party in public and does at least a decent job of it.
Realistically, he’s pretty moderate compared to Democratic governors in other parts of the country.

compared to some of the loons you see/hear it's almost impossible to NOT appear moderate.

Because it’s no longer the “community’s” fault and he doesn’t have to fuss at just one demographic for not listening to him

wants to test 5K a people a day.
Aren’t we already testing 20K a day?
Why do we need more testing? Our system is already maxed out.
I am just trying to figure out what is the end game by increasing the testing by 5k a day. Is it just to inflate numbers?

Baton Rouge recently got 4 federally-supported test sites to do 5,000 tests a day. Edwards said you can go get tested even if you don't have symptoms. #lalege #lagov
It’s some kind of “surge city” program
BR is 1 of 3 cities selected
It’s for a study I think

Thanks. At least it looks to be a legit reason and not just him trying to inflate the numbers.

I got tested last week and was asked to take 2 additional tests for a study. OLOL after hours on Drusilla. I think I am getting a check for $30 for the additional tests. Probably has nothing to do with what yall are discussing.

I love how bars are practically being solely blamed for the spread of the virus. Nothing else going on right now contributes.
